I feel like the older saddle brown cases for previous model phones were a much better quality leather. I think the 6/6s apple saddle brown cases used to come with a care card that this specific leather aged nicely. These newer cases age in a really weird manner.
This is straight from Apples website this what use be on the back of the box is what I recall

Funny, I did the same thing when I got my Forest Green. I wanted one with as much grain as possibleView attachment 895493View attachment 895494View attachment 895495View attachment 895496
I personally love the forrest green leather cases! This case - perhaps other colors(?) - for my XS Max were very slippery at first, more than the 8 Plus, 6 Plus leather cases I had. But...after a few weeks it's fine.

I have maybe 5-6 other cases (which just basically sit in a box right now) - and even though these Apple ones are pricy, I personally love how they fit my phone, love how it feels.

I love the quality of Forest Green and Product Red all the other colors don’t offer the same grainy texture and they scratch a lot easier. Although I’ve been using saddle brown more recently every now and then I switch back to Forest green

Aubergine = Eggplant

I had the forest green folio, and loved it initially, as the leather is much richer than on the regular cases. But eventually grew to hate it because the flap was way too loose.

Lol! I was going to say eggplant is a perfect description of the color, not knowing that aubergine IS an eggplant 😆

This case obsession really is a sickness. I just bought and returned a black leather folio in December. At that time I swore off folios because of the irritating flap. Now I’m back with a flappy 🍆

In dim lighting the color looks like a nice dark burgundy. In bright light it looks vivid purple. Anyone know how aubergine cases patina over time?

I’d imagine it turns black

What’s everyone’s thoughts on the camera lens cover I’m using? I got the black because I think it looks better (on my midnight green pro max) with black cases or as here the saddle brown. Not sure I like it though? Definitely moving back to space grey this year...

Eventually, the edges will turn black but it looks kinda cool because the middle will stay a purplish and the edges gradually darken to a black. I loved mine on the X. I wish they'd bring it back, non-folio

What's the best leather case that isn't the Apple Leather Case? I have an iPhone 11 and Apple doesn't make leather cases for the iPhone 11.

I've tried out Mujjo and Bullstrap and the leather on the Mujjo case seems pretty thick but it looks almost too perfect and the Bullstrap case looks like nice leather, but it seemed a bit thin. I'm wondering what your guys' opinions are on the non-Apple Leather Cases and which one has a nice, quality leather.

Also, I've emailed a few companies and Mujjo sources their leather from Texas. Bullstrap sources their watch strap leather from Italy, but they said that their phone case leather comes from "around the world". Apple's website says their leather comes from Europe.

Mous has one in leather.. not sure about how they are felt around these parts as I’m new here. I’ve had a couple of cases from them and like them.

Mous “leather” isn’t true leather. I’m not sure what material is used, but it rubs away from itself after about a month of usage and it’s been documented on YouTube. I have 3 of their cases and the two contour cases I own have been trash. That’s just my opinion though.

I think Nomad makes a decent case for iPhone 11

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't actually seen one in person. I do have the Aramid CF on my 7 and XS Max. I was going to get both when I initially made my purchase, as the case was 60% off at their site at the time. I decided against it.

my girlfriend had the fuchsia one but it took a bit more than three weeks to wear out...it's a shame but it is what it is.I recommend the saddle brown always

Nomad's leather is nice, but unfortunately the leather doesn't wrap all around the case.

I've tried the Mous Contour as well, but the leather felt like paper thin.

I'm thinking it's gotta be between Mujjo, Bullstrap, or possibly Burkley but I haven't tried any cases from Burkley.
