^ Yep I rang Apple Ireland (Their Euro HQ is here) and they tell me it will ship ON the 26th and not before.

Bank holiday here this weekend meaning it will be the 30th at least before we see it here.

What with no Apple retail stores, i'm pretty bummed!

Yes you will get it on Friday via Fedex. I ordered my copy over the phone last week and was told all preorders would be delivered on the 26th.

Would be great if they show early. My status is still "Prepared for Shipment" 🙁

Apple store in the Uk confirmed no one... including Amazon will be able to have it in your hands until 29-31/10... So I cancelled my online order too!

Although you cant always go by that, I placed an order for a itouch on the Sunday and it came the following Friday from China 2 wks b4 delivery date given

I just phoned westerd computers (apple premium reseller) in bristol, who told me that not only will they have them on friday, but they are considering staying open till past 6 so they can sell them. (they said they wont let any out the door till then though)

They're only *considering* staying open? I remember now why I always thought Western Computer Co are so rubbish!!! (So much so that I've considered setting up my own Apple Store nearby)

Farpoint in Bath are open beyond 6 - I'd recommend them over Western Computers.

I've been eyeballing my ship status, it's been "Prepared for Shipment" and now all of a sudden it say "Backordered, delivery in 1-2 weeks!".. WTF??? 😱

According to the Purolator site, it is saying "In Transit in U.S.", then it should hit customs and then it should be out for delievery in Canada.

Here's my dilemma though, Purolator sucks 🙄 . Most likely when it is delivered no one is going to be home cause I will be either at school or work. And Purolator won't just leave it on my doorstep cause it is a Apple shipment; even if I leave a note on the door.

Dammit, and the closest Purolator outlet is across the city!

BTW: I am in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I know someone from above said they were in Manitoba and their's hadn't shipped yet.

I'm in BC and mine is still just prepared...

Not sure what the 'up-to-date' offer is but i'm in UK and in the last couple of hours mine is now 'prepared for shipment'. I'm confident of it arriving late tomorrow (although I will be out 😡 ) or early on 26th.

Up-to-date is the offer that apple do to give you leopard for cost of shipping if you bought your Mac after Oct 1st.

I wont be going, I was just contingency planning incase apple decided to ignore their european pre-orders again, but mine has changed to Prepared for shipment, so am happy.

I've never been to Farpoint, I'll look them up next time I'm in Bath.

i've considered that too. I found tantra to be lacking and western (in bristol anyway) annoying to get to and offering nothing special.

Let's hope the driver isn't a duffis who sees the DO NOT DELIVER UNTIL October 26 notice on the box and takes it back or doesn't even show up to say "sorry close but no cigar". 😛

Try to take it from him before you sign so he doesn't have long to look at it. Take it and put it between your legs or in the doorstep or something out of his reach and view - then sign.

Yes please do have your camera ready to shoot all the gory detail of opening and what all the collateral paper looks like etc. And of course how many DVDs and a close up pic of each one.
