Leopard has SHIPPED!

^ Yep I rang Apple Ireland (Their Euro HQ is here) and they tell me it will ship ON the 26th and not before.

Bank holiday here this weekend meaning it will be the 30th at least before we see it here.

What with no Apple retail stores, i'm pretty bummed!
 
Apple upgraded my shipping to priority Overnight. I chose standard!

it also says delivers on the 26th, does this mean I will receive it that day?

Yes you will get it on Friday via Fedex. I ordered my copy over the phone last week and was told all preorders would be delivered on the 26th.

Would be great if they show early. My status is still "Prepared for Shipment" :(

I just phoned westerd computers (apple premium reseller) in bristol, who told me that not only will they have them on friday, but they are considering staying open till past 6 so they can sell them. (they said they wont let any out the door till then though)

They're only *considering* staying open? I remember now why I always thought Western Computer Co are so rubbish!!! (So much so that I've considered setting up my own Apple Store nearby)

Farpoint in Bath are open beyond 6 - I'd recommend them over Western Computers.
 
I've been eyeballing my ship status, it's been "Prepared for Shipment" and now all of a sudden it say "Backordered, delivery in 1-2 weeks!".. WTF??? :eek:

According to the Purolator site, it is saying "In Transit in U.S.", then it should hit customs and then it should be out for delievery in Canada.

Here's my dilemma though, Purolator sucks :rolleyes: . Most likely when it is delivered no one is going to be home cause I will be either at school or work. And Purolator won't just leave it on my doorstep cause it is a Apple shipment; even if I leave a note on the door.

Dammit, and the closest Purolator outlet is across the city!

BTW: I am in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I know someone from above said they were in Manitoba and their's hadn't shipped yet.

I'm in BC and mine is still just prepared...
 
Been prepared for ship since Monday at the latest. Why isn't Apple shipping mine yet? Well actually come to think of it, Tiger shipped Wednesday night while I was asleep and got to my location Thursday morning and delivered later that day. So there is still hope!

I've been prepared for shipment since Saturday and I still haven't shipped. What is this? I really hope it ships sometime today from CA and gets here tomorrow, I can't wait until friday. Its only noon in CA so theres still a good chance of it going out today

ours (in CA) probably wont go out until the last minute i bet. slim chance we will get it early...

Up-to-date is the offer that apple do to give you leopard for cost of shipping if you bought your Mac after Oct 1st.

They said considering based on interest. And to call back late tomorrow to find out what's going on.
I wont be going, I was just contingency planning incase apple decided to ignore their european pre-orders again, but mine has changed to Prepared for shipment, so am happy.

I've never been to Farpoint, I'll look them up next time I'm in Bath.

i've considered that too. I found tantra to be lacking and western (in bristol anyway) annoying to get to and offering nothing special.

Let's hope the driver isn't a duffis who sees the DO NOT DELIVER UNTIL October 26 notice on the box and takes it back or doesn't even show up to say "sorry close but no cigar". :p

Try to take it from him before you sign so he doesn't have long to look at it. Take it and put it between your legs or in the doorstep or something out of his reach and view - then sign.

Yes please do have your camera ready to shoot all the gory detail of opening and what all the collateral paper looks like etc. And of course how many DVDs and a close up pic of each one.

Take a picture of the delivery guy at the door as he approaches you with the box. Then a pic of the box. Then take it from him. Then Sign.
 
I AM SOO FREAKIN PISSED... B/C I GOT MINE FROM THE UP-TO -DATE program and i just called apple and this rude guy said i'll get next week. he said no shippments has been made out to anyone... THIS IS UNFAIR... just cuz i used the up to date i have to suffer and wait another WEEK. I AM SOO PISSED @ :apple: SHAME ON YOU!
 
I reserved a copy at my local Apple Store and the owner said that They will close the store at 5:30 pm and re-open at 6:00 pm stay open till 8:00 so those who pre-ordered can pick up their copies.
