SMS Update

What about there being away to cancel a SMS message.. I mean sometimes there are typos or you don't realize you are sending it to the wrong person while you are previewing it while it is sending.
There should be an X next to the sending status bar so you can quickly tap it to cancel it..

What about forwarding SMS and also a time log would be nice..

Sometimes you may get a message that you need to know the time it came in at a later point and there really is no way to check besides 15 minute increments.

Security...

Basically, I have a iPhone 3G, I use both the phone lock and sim lock, I have noticed if you do a hard reset of the phone, the sim does not lock itself.

Text message or receiving calls

Very useful, if a adress book contact rings you or sends you a text message, the caller ID or txt message display also shows:
Contact name, which it already does + number or type
Name (Home)
Name (work)
Name (other)

Yesterday I was texting somebody at his second number and the other person thought I was ignoring him.

Come January, I hope Appl releases flash or includes installer. I don't want to jaibreak. By the way that's what they did with nano's when they found people were installing linux on nano to watch videos. Who knows........

spaces

spaces to sort out many pages of apps

spaces would be a great idea.
I could imagin it it, three fingers held down on screen for 2 seconds and you get this (sorry about crappy animation):

Made a new concept to allow unlimited app space, and maybe a quicker and easier way of find your apps in a linear way instead of visual, what to do you think (again, sorry for the crappy animation):

that would be awesome

Turn by Turn

Turn by turn guidance when using maps!

Always heading up (Pretty useful when you are driving) I can't stand the North up maps view. It makes it far more confusing to interpret whilst you are driving.

I would PAY for the above to be added. (And I don't like paying for software!)

I thought TomTom was ready to release a version of their software for the iPhone? Does anybody know what happened to this?

Sms/mms Support

like many of the cheap phones when you go into your messaging it asks if you want to do a sms text, mms text, or voice text. iphone should do the same:cool:

Hold down Home button for 3 seconds to access customizable phone settings, ie. wifi, location services, 3G. Could save settings as Home, Work, Driving, whatever.

Not sure if this has been posted, but wouldn't it be cool if there was a Quick Reply feature for SMS. When you would get a Text while in another app, a keyboard would pop up in the app you are currently in, and when you hit "Send" it will go away.

i dont know if this has been posted but it would be useful if you could change the size of the icons, not that i would need to but it might be helpful for some people

Not really for the phone itself but its related. An app for Mac/PC to organise your Apps on the iPhone, instead of click and dragging them, which can take ages!

I'd like to see something like this, but have it so you can rearrange you apps by page and by individual apps. I'm anal about organization so all my games are on one, stock apps are on another, so on and so forth. So when i want to move the order of the pages it's a pain to move all the apps one at a time when page by page would be 34x easier.

that is an excellent idea, that would be awesome!

i dont know if anyone talked about this, but it would be great to send more than one picture in a email, or to have the option to insert an picture in the email. that would really make life easier for me.

You will be able to find my hardware predictions here https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=6914398#post6914398

Will Happen:
Push Notifications

Very Likely:
Copy, cut and paste
option to switch to horizontal keyboard at anytime
Ability to buy audiobooks from iTunes mobile store
More bug fixes
Ability for Apple to notify users via push notifications when a new firmware update is available

Likely:
3G tethering option

Unlikely:
Ability to buy TV shows and music videos from iTunes mobile store
Multimedia messaging (too late at this point)
Redone YouTube app to support comments, user log in, and view mail from YouTube accounts
Apple will allow developers to make 3rd party accessories to attach to the iPhone for use with specific apps

Very Unlikely
Adobe Flash

Extremely unlikely:
Ability to rent and download movies off of iTunes mobile store

-Search function in music player ala ipod nano or pwn player
-Visual Equalizer in Music Player la winamp plugins.
-Merge Video player and Music Player into one app. Casuals aren't as retarded as companies think, they use computers and use Windows Media Player which plays both songs and video, they won't die if you merged these two players on a phone as advanced as the iPhone.
- Take in Intelliscreen as an official app: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dRmsrYyY3So
-Ability to access equalizer/ brightness/ wifi settings without closing out app ala SBsettings
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQuFporqpI0
- Option to not being kicked out of the App Store every time I download something and want to keep browsing. It's very jarring.
- Copy EVERYTHING from Palm Pre aka Palm Pimp w.r.t. U.I., Multitasking, Universal Search and lol copy and paste. And copy a few things jailbreak devs have done, like letting you use your wallpaper on your springboard, for Pete's sake.

For me what's important is to improve the UI and make it more usable. For example we should be able to use the top bar as a task bar and enable 3G,GPS,wifi etc. through there and not having to go through 3 pages. Also we need themes!
An alternative way to organize apps as well (sure keep this but give as a list too). Also I think the phone capabalities should be enhanced. For example my old Nokia gave me many details on call logs, like being able to show only outgoing calls or incoming calls. Improved SMS as well with the ability to get a report on delivery, forward SMS, cancel SMS before it get's send, sort SMS by date sent, by sender, show only SMS by contacts etc.

Other than that I would like to see, copy+cut+paste, video recording,iChat, improved Safari (stability, performance, features and ability to go 100% full screen), improved Photos so we can create Albums through the iPhone and assign a name to each photo, comments etc.

Something that I don't really mind : Flash support for some sites like youtube, many use the same video engine so maybe they can make 1-2 video engines work without having to put 100% flash support?

It's not like they have much work to do, people have done it already! Even SBsettings itself has themes!

Take a look at this video:

An old jailbroken app called Customise allowed you to do what I think you're suggesting, is that correct? I used to use it a lot with the old firmwares. You arrange by individual icons (not by pages unfortunately).

The app was discontinued by the dev when the "wiggly icons" came out, a decision I think was made too hastily as moving icons from one page to another becomes a pain when you have a lot of pages!

I like your idea, but the only thing stopping me from actually wanting it to be implemented is the notification number on an application. How am I going to be reminded that I have to do something by a certain date if I do not have the number shown every time I pass the application?

Does that make sense?
