Nope. Unless something incredible occurs in the next year or so, I'm not planning on upgrading until Nehalem or Westmere.

I am not really interested in anything new. Other then maby a processor upgrade for the MBP. But I don't like touch screen ect.

I am kinda hoping they don't mess with the MBP much. I almost want to buy mine before MW.

17'' Is too big for me. The 15'' is perfect.

The wait has been killing me. Right now I'm stuck on a ******-rigged PC, that can pretty much only do basic crap. Lags on photoshop ect.

I am dying to get one, But I'm holding out for MW. Barely

Possibly.

I go back and forth on desktop vs laptop. I love the screen real estate of the white iMacs, and it having more ports, but also need portability. What I've done in the past is to have an iMac and a Powerbook, but then I have syncing issues (duh). I suppose my ideal would be a laptop that I could plug into a bigger display, but it's a nuisance to have to connect/disconnect everything.

So if there is a new MBP and new displays, I'll probably pull the trigger . . . even though the Powerbook I have now runs everything, albeit with that infamous "Powerbook pause."

Count me in...

My powerbook is starting to feeling its old age.

I need to find a nice retirement home for it, near a lake perhaps...

Even if there is no update, I'm buying one. Selling the Mac Pro and going mobile.

I have had money waiting in the bank for the past month or so. I'm looking forward to a nice, small update on the MBP 15''.

right, so how much money are Apple going to be stripping off us collectively so far?

Something in the range of $30,000-50,000? We should get a bulk discount ;)

Agreed, except for the fact that the money's been there since mid October. I don't really need a new laptop, but I've been craving a MacBook Pro for quite some time now. I'd just like to see a processor refresh and magnetic latch. We shall see though.. 9 days is all.

A small processor bump and an upgraded (read more memory) video card are what I'm hoping for. A magnetic latch, esata, MB chicklet-style keyboard, etc. etc. would all just be icing on the cake.

I will either buy one after a month or so to ensure there are no initial manufacturing defects to deal with or I will end up waiting for the next revision. It really comes down to how impressive the specification updates are. Plus my PowerBook is still chugging along at this point so it is not as though I am in a huge rush to buy one.

Iggy

Highly likely

I've been waiting to replace my 12" PowerBook... A 13" MBP would be perfect. I'd like to say I'll wait and see how a new model shakes out, but I'd only be kidding myself: next update I'm buying!

Whether or not a new 15 MBP comes out I am buying one on the 15th. I've needed one for the past week and a half, but have been holding out. What will really kill me is if they announce a new one, but its availability is delayed.

A whole/entire week and a half?! OMG :eek::eek::eek::eek:

re

i'm definitely getting one. i just gave my dual 2ghz PM G5 to my brother and i'm stuck using my crappy dell i bought almost 6 years ago...

lol - all you people that say you're buying a the new MBP on Jan 15th and yet no one even knows for sure Apple will even have a new MBP on that day.

talk about counting your chickens before they hatch! :p

That would be a bummer, 'uldn't it :(

I don't know what I'll do if there is no new MBP, because that prolly means that it won't be updated until April/May. I'm not willing to a) wait that long, b) pay a premium for a soon to be outdated model, c) buy somebody else's reject from the refurb store. I might just break down and buy a Vaio or a Latitude! Hear that, Steve? :D

If you cannot claim your MacBook Pro as a business expense, perhaps you really have no business in buying one

For your sake I hope we never meet in person.

Seriously, get your head out of your butt. Your needs do not = the rest of the world's needs. Anyway, I'll be gettin a new MBP mainly because I don't care for integrated graphics, and I want a Mac.

Not really, I am merely responding to the folks who constantly go "Oh, Macs are so expensive", blah blah blah.

Try claiming an item you bought from eBay as a work expense, and the reason why Apple is still in business becomes stunningly obvious.

Hoping for a 17" LED hi-res screen, decent battery life, and no burnt thighs after using it for a while!

Been waiting for a couple of months to buy, so just waiting for the Penryn. Hopefully with a 2.8GHz processor option.
