If the new rumoured "mini" MBP materialises, and if it is the same size or smaller than my VAIO TX, then I'll buy for sure.
I use my VAIO TX when I travel rather than my MBP for the sole reason that the TX can fit in the small safes that are in hotel rooms. Very handy.

Whatever happens ill be buying a new macbook pro. Sold mine early December to ensure id get a good price. The reason i sold it was that i got tired of my yellowish screen and im hoping either for a revised macbook pro or something new and extraordinary!

Hi everyone, long time viewer, first-time poster.

I've been envisaging switching to Mac for a very long time now and I think I'll make the transition if they announce an updated MBP at MWSF. It would be ideal to write my master dissertation with it, now that my four year old windows laptop is seriously starting to fail on me and I'm looking forward to using Leopard.

I'm hoping to see an enclosure and graphics card update.

Count me in

I'm getting one this month - the money is in the bank. I'm hoping for a high-res screen option akin to the 17"'s and a larger hard drive standard. If not the 15th, I'll wait for the low-key, non MWSF update with Penryns. I can wait another month or so, the PB is still chugging along.

I am just hoping the yellow screen is fixed....how many months ago did this problem arise? 6 months?

Apple doesn't fix such defects; they just run out of defective parts. The problem isn't going to go away until there aren't any yellow screens left in the Apple warehouse.

while my status may say "newbie" I have been lurking around these forums since late May of last year, because I have been in the market for a Macbook Pro since then. I was originally only going to wait till Leopard came out, but then I realized macworld sf was just around the corner from that.

So either way I can assure you on January 15th I will be ordering a macbook pro, because the pc laptop I have been using for over 5 years now is basically a dinosaur. when people complain on here about how loud their fans are on their new macs, I just laugh because until you have heard the boeing 747 that sits atop this desk, you have no reason to whine.

January 15th can not get here sooner!

If there is a revision, I will be purchasing one with the good ol' student discount! It will be my first Mac! :D:apple:

I am definitely buying one very close to the 15th. Any update at all and I will, and if there is no update, I will have to think - wait some more or buy the current model now. Normally I could wait, but I have been waiting since late October and I need a laptop for uni which starts the end of Feb, so I cant wait much longer.

So yes. But me down for a purchase.

<- +1 buyer, but i will probably wait for the early adopters to round out with their testing.. there will be a lot of money to drop, so i'm going to have to consider my choices a bit.

The same here, how much is your discount? The guy in the shop said mine should be around 11%

What about the 2 week grace-period?

I'm gonna consider the price on refurbs for the last revision, based on the previous model it'll get another $200 drop

If it's the new form factor as predicted, absolutely no way. Early adoption is for others to experience. I will calmly sit on the sidelines taking notes.

One MBP or another...

Finally narrowed down my laptop hunt for college to a MBP. Now I just need to wait for the 15th. I *will* buy a Mac! (first one..) I'm hoping for an update, so I can choose between that and a (hopefully) clearance priced older one at the campus store.

Macbook Pro is out of my price range, but I may have to consider a previous revision vs. the November Macbook. I'd love to have a better video processor and accept more memory.

I'm waiting to see if they will do some tweaks to the MAcbook before I purchase it. I would also love to see them just make black an option and tack on the hundred bucks or so, I don't want the big HDD or superdrive.

I am waiting for the 15th for a new 15" MBP. This will make me a first-time Mac and hopefully last-time Windows owner.
