Well if you had read the link I posted you would've seen the reasons why there is a charge. You can aruge that it is a bit odd but it was not the point you were originally bringing up.

Your original point was that it was an apple tax on Australia claiming they were ripping you off. I pointed out that it is not location specific more time specific and is not an issue for any devices going forwards while also providing you the reason why this is the case. So it was very much the point.

My original point was that I wouldn't use facetime because I'd have to buy it. The comment about the Australia tax is still true, take a look at the difference in song prices, although I will say I was wrong about facetime being paid as a result of australia tax. I still won't get facetime especially when skype can add the same functionality for free.

I just had a look at their site...

Apple isn't going to screw anyone for Sprint. The appropriate chips for WiMax are available now, the low-power LTE chips are not. As soon as it is technically feasible for Apple to add LTE phones with decent battery life, it will.

And what about the rest of the planet?

If the iPhone 5 is indeed a new, bigger phone with WiMax... what about the other 100 carriers around the globe?

I realize that $20 Billion from Sprint over 4 years isn't exactly chump change... but Apple can already generate that kind of money in one year without making a Sprint iPhone.

Apple was late bringing 3G to its lineup... would they really pick WiMax now?

I think apple's successfully tricked us all. All this 4S hullabaloo the past few months is just Apple toying with our rumor reading minds as payback to the lost iPhone 4 that was found oh so long ago.

- You don't wait 16 months for just a speed bump.
- You don't let your iconic ceo step down and have you're replacement, which everyone in the tech industry will be harshly judging, launch your next, and most anticipated product being only a speed bump.
- You don't release iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5 with a product named 4S.

They also need to redesign it just to shut people up about the antenna. If it has the same form factor everyones just gonna be complaining about their cell reception when the thing comes out regardless if there's a problem or not.

Anyway, I bet those at Apple are just grinning thinking about how well they have kept this thing under wraps, and can't wait to hear Cook say up on stage "one more thing..."

You're crazy.

I know a guy in cupertino, his name is Rick Raname. I can't tell you what and where he works exactly within apple's organization. I tried pushing him in questions and he won't answer to anything for fear of losing his job.

So Apple please give him credit and a raise and a promotion because he is faithful and said nothing TO ME! I am the most obnoxious, pushy person you can ever meet.

The one thing he did say, is Apple will surprise the heck out of us all. They have been trying for so long to keep some things secret and somehow it always leaked. They are really pushing to keep the hush hush on this one.

So i can almost guarantee that it is not only going to be an iPhone 4S. He said that this is the biggest conceal job ever done by Tim Cook and Apple. One of the main reasons he was chosen by Steve to take over was his big belief in company secrets and discreetness. We can only blame Tim Cook for this one.

They have something very very special up there sleeves and have kept it so so quiet. Good job. It is not very easy in such a nosey world where people will pay for info and greedy people all over.

I have known this for the past 3 weeks and did not write anything on it. I see how many people need to know and are dying at not knowing. So since it is tomorrow i thought i would make everyone's life just a bit better for the next few hours.

BTW: The iPod Touch line is also getting a heck of a change.

Let's enjoy the ride!!

I believe he meant true as in they approach everything together, including purchases, even if they seem trivial to other people.

That doesn't make it truer. I believe a true relationship is as much about the individuals being able to still progress as individuals as much as a couple. Give to much weight to either side (the couple or the individuals) and you're bound to cause aggravation.

Everyone needs their own personal space and some personal spending money goes a long towards that.

For him, that might not work. For me, it does. Neither of us should claim to have a truer relationship than the other. Neither of us should claim the other is pathetic. He'd rather give up all his freedom, I'd rather keep some of my own.

3.5 hours to go and no early bird iPhone 5 leaks?

Hey take a look at this:

It's from yesterday but I'm pretty sure you haven't seen this. What do you think about it? Found it on the Web. :apple:

My predictions for tonight:

- iPhone 5 (Teardrop, 16; 32; 64GB, A5, 1GB RAM, better Battery, no LTE or WiMAX, not exclusive to sprint, assistant, 4" inch retina display.
- iPhone 4S (Only if it a one more thing: 8; 16GB, 1GB RAM, Assistant, 3.5" retina

Running iOS5 just fine with no errors about a month. I believe it can come in 1-2 weeks but my bet is you will be running iOS5 this friday.

When you're married with kids it gets a little more complicated. Kids need new clothes, shoes, toys. Who pays? My wife is a stay at home mum. Looking after my children. I'm not going to leaver her penniless cause she doesn't have her own income. We share everything.
Share everything except your children I guess? Are they not her children as well? ;)

ultimatum to apple

unless ALL of the following conditions are met for iphone 5, i will be switching my allegiance to google nexus prime or motorola spyder:

1. bigger screen - 4.4" preferably
2. turn by turn gps navigation equal to or better than android.
3. lte

regards,

mike

Apple is now put on notice!

Last minute predictions

iPhone 4S (looks like iPhone 4)
1) world phone (CDMA & GSM)
2) HSPA+
3) A5 SOC
4) 8MP Camera
5) iOS 5 with Assistant

iPhone 5 (round back & wider)
1) world phone (CDMA, GSM, WiMax)
Take advantage of selling this intermediate technology, like the edge to 3G change
2) HSPA+
3) A5 SOC
4) 8MP Camera
5) iOS 5 with Assistant
6) 4" screen
7) bigger battery because of wider size

I think there will be both phones, I do not know about Sprint exclusivity, we have already seen ATT get round back cases.

I'm Getting a Galaxy S II!

No matter what happens tonight, I'm getting the Samsung Galaxy S II. ;)

It's just because NTT Docomo don't offer the iPhone and our company has a corporate account with them. :(

What's the email client on them like?

What will actually happen:

iPhone 4S:
- A5 Processor
- CDMA/GSM "World Phone"
- 1GB RAM
- "Assistant" will be an exclusive feature
- 8 megapixel camera
- 32GB, 64GB
- Same or slightly better battery
- Same design, sans some change Apple will claim fixes the death grip

iPod Touch:
- Same basic design
- A5
- 1GB RAM
- Upgraded cameras

iPhone 4:
- 8GB free on contract

Why do I say this? Because there is 0 evidence of an iPhone 5. Rumors based solely off of case designs are, and always have been, bogus. Like every product launch, everyone is getting their hopes up for an impossible dream product, that Apple will not announce, and then come on these forums to complain about how Apple won't sell any... while Apple laughs all the way to the bank.

However, the basic idea behind the current rumors for the iPhone 5 will come in the iPhone 6 when all current iPhone 4 owners' contracts are up and Apple can sell a bunch of iPhone 6's with a major design change.

iPod Touch is not getting upgraded cameras or A5. White iPod Touch may be released.

Internally lolled the mushy-mushy-peace-love here about Chimpboys personal life.

Agreed about the mortgage and kids stuff, but still man... you gotta have some private stash were you control your own spending. We split the mortgage and necessary spendings, but other than that - to each their own.

When my partner was staying home with the kid I was guilty of holding that against her when discussion turned to money and so I had more say in where we spend, as I was the one turning the income. In retrospect it was a shameful thing to do however and kudos to you for not going down that dark path.

I'm just so excited that in a few hours i'm going to see how the products im waiting so long look like.

No, he has his priorities right. When you stop working and run out of money while trying to exist off £75 a week because you have no savings or family, then you may see the light albeit too late...

Well said that person (being politically correct)! I think you should be Cameron's adviser...
