My last post before the big announcement. I expect:

1) iPhone 4 with 8 gb for the lower end

2) iPhone 4S for the higher end. It will be just slightly faster than the current iPhone 4 and have a slightly better camera, but Apple will downplay those issues and instead claim that the Assistant feature will revolutionize the world. Which of course it won't - it will be just one gimmick and barely used feature.

I hope I'm wrong, but if I'm right I'll just stick to my iPhone 3GS and hope that the iPhone 6 (5?) will have a better design than a brick made of glass.

Come on bro you are still rollin on a 3GS...that is a good phone but it is way old...the Iphone 4S or Iphone 5 will sport the dualcore A5 processor that rocks on the Ipad 2. The Ipad 2 is a beast. The graphics chip is also dual core. A 8MP camera with state of the art sensors will rock too. Your old ass 3GS has a pretty crappy camera. The Iphone 4 camera rocks. Also the Iphone 4S\5 will probably record in 1080p video too. A lot of people are forgetting this.

Also they could price it right..

$99 for the 16 GB
$199 for the 32 GB
$299 for the 64 GB.
$49 Iphone 4 8GB
$0 old ass Iphone 3GS (why would you buy this?)

No you say why would you need a 64GB iphone? For recording 1080p video! Oh and 8MP pictures.

Oh and this baby is gonna have 1Gb of ram...your 3GS only has 256MB of ram...

The assistant thing is gonna rock if it works...and everybody will try to copy it.

Tomorrow is the dawn of a new ERA.

If apple can bring it and show a new Design...they totally blow it out of the water. But if they still use the same design...they will still sell and do good.

I am betting there will be a new design.

We are gonna be WOWED tomorrow! Get ready!

Assistant is going to have 1000x the impact that a larger screen would have. Leave those bad moves to the commodity android handsets

I really, really doubt it. I could be wrong, but I am almost certain Assistant is going to be overhyped and rarely used in the real world.

You are going to be wrong. This is the core focus for advancement for the new iPhone. It will change the way people do things.

From what i can tell assistant might be pretty cool but I have a feeling its going to be another facetime. How many people use facetime or voice control today? I know apple made a big deal over facetime but remember they did so when announcing iphone 4. I see assistant will be the killer feature along side iphone 5 + ios 5.

I've been using Facetime more and more since Skype seems determined to make their client into a piece of junk (and their service seems to be deteriorating...for me at least).

Facetime is big...a lot of people use it, just not you. But you are right they should have opened up Facetime to run on PCs and android. They still might do that. We could see a new version of facetime tomorrow? Maybe a facetime that allows group facetime? But only works on the new Iphone with the A5 chip and the 1Gb of ram...

I may very well be wrong, but I have never seen any sort of implementation that would lead me to believe I would ever want to use it. Hell, even using voice dialling at the moment is irritating and takes longer then doing it myself.

I'm hoping for something on the level of Star Trek voice control. I don't want to be doing the equivalent of Captain's Logs on my phone but it would be amazing if I could just ask it a question and it would answer it. I doubt it will be that all knowing but I'm hoping it will be close (if it is powered by Wolfram Alpha it will be pretty sweet for a lot of things but not so much for others).

Nice roundup of all the rumors. Hopefully they all come true and we get some additional surprises :)

You don't live somewhere cold, then.

Whatever they release tomorrow I just want it to come factory unlocked, I don't need a redesign I love the looks of the iphone 4...although a 3.7" screen would be a nice surprise :p

What intrigues me is that they're doing it at the Apple Campus. That's highly unusual for a big launch, it's not a large space.

I think a reason to do it on apple's campus might be to keep the high level of secrecy up. They have much more control there. Another tip-off that we might see something tomorrow that we arent really expecting. I really think Tim Cook needs a big splash tomorrow. Assistant is cool but after 18months Apple probably should have a new design. Either way making enough phones will certainly be the issue here. I highly doubt there will be the A5 chip in any new ipods because they need everyone they can make for the phones.

Assistant will create a massive media splash. A redesigned iPhone would get only a minor amount of mainstream media attention as the same old thing.

Assistant is the big splash, the game changer. Just putting out a new case would not even be a ripple. Apples marketing is tailored to mainstream media not nerds. In the real world assistant will get massive coverage and publicity for apple.

As much as I don't want it to be true. We're getting a 4S with the spec bumps that everyone has been expecting, the current iP4 is taking the place of the 3GS (not sure if it will be in 8 or 16GB). They are going to really be pushing Assistant as their revolutionary feature. They will take up 30 minutes of the keynote explaining how wonderful Assistant is. By the end of the keynote, most everyone believes apple's new feature is a must-have. Apple will compare it to how they revolutionized the touch screen interface and this will be the next leap forward.

I really hope I'm way off, but I don't see any other scenario. I might use voice features a little but it doesn't intrigue me. Honestly, they could release the same basic iP4 design with a little bigger screen and they would get me to buy in.

I bet your grandpappy said the same thing about the mouse back in 1985

I agree with him. Ever since the first voice type activation came out for the 3GS I was giddy about it. Then found it annoying and haven't touched it in almost a year. Zzzzzzz

You understand this isn't that right? Of course not or you would not have said zzzz. I agree the android voice controls and iPhone voice controls zzzz

Assistant Ahmahzing!!!

You forgot iCloud. I'd say it is probably the most important name to come out of Apple since Digital Hub. The Digital Hub wasn't impressive at launch but look what it turned into. iCloud is going to grow that much in a few years.

I guess I consider iCloud more of an iOS5 feature than something related to the next iphone, especially since we already know about it...just don't know when.

I agree. im sure they will demo assistant in a way to make it feel like it will change our lives but it probably wont. I do believe its a must feature to put distance between ios and andriod. If we dont get a new design/bigger screen expect heavy emphasis on assistant and icloud tomorrow. A5, 8MP camera, 1080p video are slam dunks. 4G might be pushed for the real iphone 5 next year (bigger screen, LTE, NFC)

LOL @ Assistant being a major break through. There isn't that many people that want to talk to their phones in public and give it commands.

The biggest use of this would be in the car. You could actually use your phone and drive at the same time, without taken your eyes off the road.

iOS 5 released with no iPhone 5??

I just can't imagine a big iOS 5 release with only a 4S for hardware. There simply must be an iPhone 5 today, it would look silly otherwise.

If we dont get a redesign and larger screen im not buying the 4S. Im sure assistant will only work on an A5 processor (just like garage band, hdmi out for ipad2) but screw it. My iphone 4 is perfect now and 1080p and dual core proc really dont mean much to me. dual core is a bigger deal on the ipad anyway.

Mediocre hardware update? Have u seen the projected benchmarks with A5? That alone is huge, leaping the iPhone ahead of anything in the market.

Have "u" realized that if the Iphone is "in the market", it can't be ahead of "anything in the market"?

You can't be ahead of yourself, except in a number of science fiction novels that usually end horrifically.

one thing that might be worth pondering is what the "killer app" demos will be for assistant. everyone knows it is coming, so just like the original iPhone demo where there were very specifically selected demos (like Steve ordering 3000 lattes from a starbucks in downtown SF called via google maps), the assistant feature is gonna have some really rocking demos.

What will they be?

They typically show iOS features first, and hardware second. What's the chance that the assistant will be asked "what does the new iPhone look like"?
