If there is an iPhone 5, and they really want to keep it on the low, then that means they have yet to send anything to Foxconn. I'm sure we can all agree that Foxconn has as many holes in its security as swiss cheese. That seems to be where most of the rumors come from, and Apple knows this. If only top executives know about the iPhone 5, then keeping the rumor mill from turning is a rather simple job. Just a thought anyway, it's anyone's guess at this point. iPhone 4s to be released soon based on the leaks from Foxconn, with an iPhone 5 to be released in a month or two once Foxconn gets up to speed. That's my bet.

Possible but i think they would need a few months lead time like the ipad to keep something this secret. They would only have a handful of iphone 5's for the holiday if they wait until tomorrow to start manufacturing. Would be a hell of a resell on ebay though :)

Well, the iPhone 3GS is a great phone for someone who wants the simplist smartphone, and a great experience.

But if you can return it and get an iPhone 4 for the same price wouldn't you? The iPhone 4 is much better.

I thought it died ages ago..who even bought the device anyway?

Now now, there are a few people on Macrumors that have them (or were paid to have one and post on random forums) and we shouldn't hurt their feelings. Besides, the iPod Classic could use it's buddy tomorrow when it is silently let go. It's like the odd couple.

Right....

Like I said before, redesigned iPhone 5 tomorrow. Buckle up folks.

That is actually a pretty compelling argument against a 4" screen.. I would find that more than a little frustrating. I am not even sure I could use a phone where my thumb would not reach across..

I have a 4.5" screen and my thumb fits all the way across.

I think apple's successfully tricked us all. All this 4S hullabaloo the past few months is just Apple toying with our rumor reading minds as payback to the lost iPhone 4 that was found oh so long ago.

- You don't wait 16 months for just a speed bump.
- You don't let your iconic ceo step down and have you're replacement, which everyone in the tech industry will be harshly judging, launch your next, and most anticipated product being only a speed bump.
- You don't release iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5 with a product named 4S.

They also need to redesign it just to shut people up about the antenna. If it has the same form factor everyones just gonna be complaining about their cell reception when the thing comes out regardless if there's a problem or not.

Anyway, I bet those at Apple are just grinning thinking about how well they have kept this thing under wraps, and can't wait to hear Cook say up on stage "one more thing..."

You. Are. Right.

I've been thinking, how awkward would this naming strategy be:

4th generation iPhone = iPhone 4
5th generation iPhone = iPhone 4S
6th generation iPhone = iPhone 6

This is completely my opinion of course, but "iPhone Six" just doesn't sound as classy as "iPhone Five" or "iPhone Four." Even "iPhone Seven" sounds like a nice name to me. But... "iPhone Six"? Just doesn't sound as classy as Four or Five.

There WILL be an iphone5 , (in the 1st quarter of 2012) ;)

If you want a preview, download Siri and say:

"Open the pod bay doors, HAL."

The response will tickle you, I think.

I tried that the other day and it didn't work, maybe I didn't word it exactly right. Another thing to ask it: "What is the meaning of life?"

I just thought I'd repost this post for some people just coming on to the forum conversation. For me personally, if this poster is legit, I think that's all i need to hear to expect an iPhone 5. :D

thanks immunezone :p

I know a guy in cupertino, his name is Rick Raname. I can't tell you what and where he works exactly within apple's organization. I tried pushing him in questions and he won't answer to anything for fear of losing his job.

So Apple please give him credit and a raise and a promotion because he is faithful and said nothing TO ME! I am the most obnoxious, pushy person you can ever meet.

The one thing he did say, is Apple will surprise the heck out of us all. They have been trying for so long to keep some things secret and somehow it always leaked. They are really pushing to keep the hush hush on this one.

So i can almost guarantee that it is not only going to be an iPhone 4S. He said that this is the biggest conceal job ever done by Tim Cook and Apple. One of the main reasons he was chosen by Steve to take over was his big belief in company secrets and discreetness. We can only blame Tim Cook for this one.

They have something very very special up there sleeves and have kept it so so quiet. Good job. It is not very easy in such a nosey world where people will pay for info and greedy people all over.

I have known this for the past 3 weeks and did not write anything on it. I see how many people need to know and are dying at not knowing. So since it is tomorrow i thought i would make everyone's life just a bit better for the next few hours.

BTW: The iPod Touch line is also getting a heck of a change.

Let's enjoy the ride!!

KK :D:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

It'd be really cool if there is...

New iPod touch with 3G/8MPCam/White
iWork in 64bit

That's my wishful thinking!

There WILL be an iPhone 5, tomorrow; and it WILL be redesigned. :)

How much of a game changer can assistant be if Siri's app is in the app store for free and works basically how we would expect. Im sure they enhanced it using apple's money and engineers but cant be that much different. More evidence for the iphone5 redesign to carry the conversation tomorrow.
