If this whole keynote surrounds crap like this I'll never use on iOS5 and little about a brand new phone.... ugh...Let's talk, iPhone... aka Assistant.

The biggest use of this would be in the car. You could actually use your phone and drive at the same time, without taken your eyes off the road.
LOL @ Assistant being a major break through. There isn't that many people that want to talk to their phones in public and give it commands.
I think apple's successfully tricked us all. All this 4S hullabaloo the past few months is just Apple toying with our rumor reading minds as payback to the lost iPhone 4 that was found oh so long ago.
- You don't wait 16 months for just a speed bump.
- You don't let your iconic ceo step down and have you're replacement, which everyone in the tech industry will be harshly judging, launch your next, and most anticipated product being only a speed bump.
- You don't release iOS 5 and iTunes 10.5 with a product named 4S.
When it comes to making calls, what can you do differently with Assistant than with the current Voice Control? I never use the Voice Control, so I am not even really familiar with that.
Assistant will only be cool if it's like HAL from 2001 Space Odyssey...
Btw, redesigned iPhone 5 tomorrow. You can take that to the bank.
If I understand right, it will read text messages and you can reply as well as control other functions of the phone ... maps and such.
Assistant is not voice control, it is a whole new interface to the device.
I'm so glad I am on the West Coast and have less time to agonize over what will happen tomorrow!
Can't wait for my new iPhone whatever it is!

I went to 2 best buys in the last two days and wasnt able to find an Apple TV in stock at either. Maybe they gave them all away in the promo with the old Macbook airs... but perhaps we're up for an upgrade there as well...
Cool. Does it still have to be activated with the home button, or is there some other method?
Maybe I'll actually use it when I get my next iPhone. It isn't going to be available for the iPhone 4, correct?
any time I start a sentence with iPhone, she goes 'OMG shut up with that.'
shes on her crappy Droid Pro, but shes ok with it. She said she was willing to wait for the LTE version to come out, and she wants to wait until all the kinks get sorted out (she remembers antennagate, and shes not even into tech news).
I will be a good man and buy her iPhone 5 (ill pay up to $700). She just moved to Verizon too, so no contract update for her until next year..
i don't want my girl carrying around obsolete devices. I expect her to have the latest and greatest mobile phones, tech gadgets.

They also need to redesign it just to shut people up about the antenna. If it has the same form factor everyones just gonna be complaining about their cell reception when the thing comes out regardless if there's a problem or not.
Anyway, I bet those at Apple are just grinning thinking about how well they have kept this thing under wraps, and can't wait to hear Cook say up on stage "one more thing..."
First, I don't think Assistant is going to be about giving commands so much as an intelligent interface to your phone. The iPhone is primarily designed for touch and voice input (calls, duh). The keyboard sort of works but for anything nuanced it can be a major pain. If you could interact with your phone and it would be able to understand more than "call Bob's mobile" it would be a pretty huge step.
Secondly, if you go back far enough you could say the same thing regarding people talking on their phones in public. Phones calls were much different before mobiles became big (and before that before long distance became cheap and before that...and so on).
There aren't too many surprises expected for iOS 5 tomorrow, as Apple offered an extensive preview of the next-generation mobile operating system at its Worldwide Developers Conference in early June.
Call me skeptical, but i dun think Assistant will be a killer features in any way. Look at voice control, yes alot of ppl using it, but its a deciding factor, i'm dunno, at least not for me. It'll be interesting for disable ppl or say in car. If you use it in car, wouldnt it be better to pair with a bigger screen, especially using map.
If i'm not feeling well and i tell iphone, cure my fever, i might be interested, regardless of screen size.
