should've came with the first one, but nope they leave it out for v2 to make it all magical so the fanboys will buy into it.
You're on a forum about Apple products, complaining about people happily buying Apple products. Are these people really the ones who have a problem? Think about it.

Just take my money already.

Love the form factor and weight.

But the low-res screen is jarring after using retina devices.

Can't wait.

battery life in such a thin device with a retina display? meh.

i don't feel like buying any of these rumors here. but if they're true (whenever the hell it is released), i might invest provided the ten hours are not significantly reduced (chances are they will).

Please cite an example where Apple has decreased battery life between generations.

I'll wait.

Fingers tightly crossed for this...

Been waiting for a retina version since day one. I know the screen isn't bad at the moment, but I really wanted it for reading, and it just doesn't come close to my iPhone's screen.

What will actually happen

Forget all these 'analysts' and their barrage of garbage reports to make it look like they're doing something, here is what will really happen:

Apple will release an iPad Mini with retina display and still decent bezels around it later this year. It will be slightly thicker and heavier due to the greater battery requirement. It will have iOS 7 and fingerprint recognition. It will do very well.

Apple will also release a new iPad 5 which will be back down to iPad 2 slimness and weight, but still with retina display and thinner bezels, like an iPad Mini.

The iPhone 6 will appear almost identical physically to iPhone 5, but will have fingerprint recognition, iOS 7 and various secret new software features we don't yet know about.

The Mac Pro will arrive at a high price but less than expected. A new retina 4k display Apple Cinema Display will also debut at the same time.

The iWatch will surprise everyone by not actually being a watch. It will tell the time for sure, but like the iPhone is many things, one of which happens to be a phone, so the iWatch will be too. And it won't be called iWatch.

The iTV will also not be called iTV, but it won't appear until 2014.

Let's see who's closer to the mark early next year - me or these 'analysts'.

This is like rumor ping pong. At least the negative rumors are being balanced out by the positive rumors. Retina in the iPad Mini in October would clearly be a huge win for Apple.

It's not necessary that there be a retina iPad Mini this year. But between the regular Mini which they could price drop a bit and the retina which they could price premium a bit Apple would sell all they could make.

lol tomorrow the news articles will say now iPad mini pushed back till 2014

----------

troll, sensible buyers (fanboys) would not buy the first version cause they know what benefits next version is gonna bring. So try again.

Sensible buyers buy the first one then sell it before the second one comes out.

I don't care!!! this is the iPad Mini I'm waiting for!!!.

Only with A6..i need 64 voices on my Igrand:D

Yep.

I still can't understand why those who have no interest in Apple products take the time to find an Apple site and then more strangely take the time to write a post....it's very odd.

I don't particularly like Microsoft products so therefore I don't bother looking for Microsoft blogs...let alone slate the users and products on their forums!

No Retina, No Buy

As with the original iPad, one's none too impressed with the LCD screen on the iPad Mini - I only invested in the iPad 3 because it had a decent screen - although a little miffed that 4 mouths down the line Apple went 4th generation.

My ideal iPad Mini would have a decent screen to at least display HD content and, greater storage capacity - basically, 128G is now necessary for my needs.

Also wished they'd improved the screen on the Macbook Air - would have got one in a shot this time - now will wait until next year.

LOL. As if the Fandroids aren't going nuts right now over the imminent release of the Nexus 7 v2. :roll eyes:

I think you need to change the strength of your morning coffee to something less bitter.

Back to this report... Elephants picking winning NFL football games have better accuracy ratings than Digitimes. Why does anyone here put any credence in what they put out? (Personally, I believe Apple has to come out w/ a Retina mini this holiday season or the 1Q earnings will disappointing. I don't believe it has anything to do with production issues if they don't. Companies like Apple plan far ahead on these specs and Retina is hardly cutting edge anymore.)

Not possible back then without creating a much heavier device as the battery would have needed to be much bigger or it would have had a 3 hour battery life. IGZO screen will allow it to go retina with same battery life and with slightly less weight all else being equal.
