Bezel size is fortunately as expected. Not borderless, but reasonable sized bezel. Plasticky as expected, but colours and design look in the video of the plastic frame is not bad. The fake ProDisplay XDR type hinge looks cheap, but that's OK. Nice to see the video review includes a Mac as the demo machine.Full review of the monitor here, pre orders are now up too $1999 US. Not sure if it's good value next to a second hand Pro Display XDR though?

There appears to be vignetting but I'm not sure if that's from the video capture / camera lens or the screen, but I suspect it's the actual monitor in combination with the matte surface.

I just learned the Japanese word for "default" is "de-fo-ru-to".

@13:39 "It's more of a monitor for things like sexually explicit productions" 🤣
It's the automatic English AI voice auto translation at 13:38. Don't turn up the volume if you're at work.lol I didn't pick up on the sexually explicit predictions comment hahaha.
Not all the 6K monitors are using the same panel. The resolutions aren't even the same.Seems overpriced to me next to all the other 6K monitors that have come out lately, no doubt all using the same panel as this? And yes it definitely looks plasticky and a bit cheap. Oh dear, maybe I should continue saving for a Pro Display XDR.

However, the English subtitles say "static productions". The context is when he's talking about the 60 Hz limitation. It appears the voice and text auto-translation algorithms are not the same.

We shall see, but the monitor itself should still work fine with Thunderbolt 4 or DisplayPort 1.4 at full 6K 60 Hz HDR, since both already support 8K 60 Hz. You won’t get the Thunderbolt 5 bandwidth for additional peripherals though.Just to make you guys aware this is on the product page:
“To access all features, including 96W charging and 6144 × 3456 resolution, your device must support Thunderbolt 5 or USB-C with DisplayPort 2.1.”
A brief update on the 6K competition:
This concerns the Kuycon G32P, which is also competing in the 6K league. As we discovered by chance today, the Kuycon also supports higher frame rates in other resolutions, namely up to 120Hz in 4K and up to 144Hz in WQHD. Awesome!
It would be interesting to know whether LG or ASUS can do this too.
Yes, but the panel QA isn't very good judging by reports. I've seen a several reports with outright defective displays (although I'm not sure how much is due to QA and how much is due to shipping issues), and mentions of inconsistent backlighting and stuff like that. Mind you with regards to backlighting, a lot of the less expensive third party monitors are like that.Is it a glossy panel on the Kuycon?
Cannot confirm your information! Thus guy bought 4 Kuycon 5K monitors and all 4 had defects. Three were outright defective, and the fourth was bad backlighting with backlight bleed.Cannot confirm your information! And the difference between us is that I'm sitting in front of a Kuycon G32P and working with it, and you're not![]()

This guy bought the Kuycon 6K and said part of the screen was glitching out, but then resolved itself. However, it also has bad off-axis uniformity, and corner backlight bleed

Of course, any monitor can have defects, but anecdotally it seems the Kuycon has a significantly higher incidence of defects. I'm glad you got a good one, but I personally won't risk that kind of money for one to play the panel lottery with overseas mail-order.
Yes, but the volume of people buying Kuycon is undoubtedly relatively low, so these many anecdotal reports are concerning. And quite frankly, I'm not surprised. This is common with small third party no-name brands. You can often get good items, but the risk is far higher because QA usually isn't their priority. It's feature set and price. It looks good and checks off the various things of the desired feature list. I remember back when Vizio TVs were all the rage, because people could get high spec TVs for bargain pricing. Then fast forward a year and the internet was rife with complaints about their terrible QA. Despite this, there were lots of people who loved their Vizios, because they won the panel lottery. The first two replies to that guy claim to not have his issues?
Always hard to know what to make of isolated complaints on Reddit.
As we know, the complaints always get all the attention and people are FAR more inclined to rush online and post about bad things than those who have something and love it and are using it just fine.
