Milanese by far, after seeing both in person and trying them on i didn't care for the link and its Casio looking self

This ridiculous "Casio" comment is really getting tiresome. The SS band is an elegant and finely crafted watchband. Some who are used to a really heavy SS band may not like it and think it's too thin and lightweight, and I can respect that. I have a few friends that are really into watches and they like to wear what I consider to be ridiculously heavy watches. Or if you prefer a different band, fine. But these inane comments that the SS band is cheap looking or feeling and reminds people of those old flexible metal bands, or the really crazy comments that the black SS band looks "plasticy" etc.. are just crazy and out of touch with reality.

Have you seen the metal links in person? Just curious

Personal opinions will differ.

I went in store expecting to prefer the link to the loop

I was surprised, the Milanese loop is super comfortable and just feels and looks better.

The link band looks very nice but it feels light, I was expecting something very different for that price.

Just does not make me want to run out and spend 500$+ on it

I still like the link it looks very nice but it feels light, I think like most people for the price we expected the link bracelet to feel heavier.

This is just going to be a "I bought the milanese loop cause the links clasps was confusing, too light, or too much money" thread at this point. It's a personal preference but when it comes to weight or quality it's just funny to hear people push the loop

I was underwhelmed by both of them (though admittedly the price of the link bracelet played the largest role). The Milanese loop felt very delicate and given its bright, reflective quality, felt almost feminine to me (not overwhelmingly so, bu slightly). If the price were even, I'd take the link (as I ordered 42) but for me, the dress band I'm leaning towards is the classic buckle, which I think serves a nice, understated role.

Yes, clearly out of touch....

I was so interested in getting the metal link, but after finding out how much it costs and seeing it in person, I am now more interested in the Milanese Loop. Here they are side by side.

Thanks for the comparison. Based on those pictures...I think the link looks much better. The loop looks like an afterthought to me....like "Wait..I also have to use something to strap this thing to my wrist. Oh good...here's some metal looking velcro...". The link looks completely integrated with the watch, very smooth. Makes the whole thing look more like a watch.

LOL, just cause they made a simple link band people wanna jump on the Casio bandwagon when the watch looks nothing like it. To play devils advocate.. give a search of milanese loops and tell me how different they all look for cheaper competition. If anything that style is less distinguishable

You can't honestly think they look nothing alike, i don't hate the link and might one day purchase it but it looks identical and even the watch looks alike:rolleyes:

They went with simple rectangular style links. How many different types of rectangles are there? Put those two side by side and I'd never say the Apple watch looks like a Casio. If you knew anything about watches you'll know the Milanese loop is much less unique than the link band. There's nothing wrong with that, but the snarky eye rolls based on lack of knowledge are rude

I think it depends on your wrist size and personal preferences, but it's non-issue in my opinion. I tend to wear my link bands with a tiny bit of play so I can periodically adjust position and don't feel like I'm losing circulation. I'm sure Apple took careful detail to get it right for most people though

Thank for the info.

As I'm currently wearing pebble steel with it steel band which does not have micro adjustment is giving me a problem where it is either feel too loose and if I remove 1 link it become too tight.

While other watch link I wear never give me problem since most came with those micro adjustment at the clip.

Hopefully Apple have those small link near the butterfly clip for the so call micro adjustment.

I'm not getting the silicon cause I will be just use it for short run everyday thus the troublesome of removing the band everyday for run will become tiring and soon give up.

Yes I have. Had a try on appt. I was surprised it wasn't a heavier band, but in a good way, I don't like heavy watches. Everything about it though screams quality. The latch mechanism is quite ingenious and beautiful and the removable links are extremely well designed. It's certainly thinner than other SS bands I've seen, but it's what I would expect from Apple. I can't wait for my SS Space Black to come.

Personal opinions are fine. I have no problem with someone preferring a different band, but to describe something that is obviously of high quality as though it were a piece of junk just really irks me.

Milanese surprisingly. Was set on the link but seriously underwhelmed at the try on.

Linked looks better. But still a bit soft.
Milanese looks even less masculine. ( but v comfortable)

I'm waiting for 3rd parties bands .. Alike tag-heuer f1 band for example ...

I don't agree with you on Milanese being less masculine. It has business and style all over it.

But, 110% agree with a link band like the tag. That style, link size and weight is where Apple needs to go on a future link band.

Starting with Link, and I think I'll pick up the loop later on.

Same here. The Milanese band by itself isn't prohibitively expensive, so it will be nice to have as a second choice. Also picking up a black sport band for the gym and hiking.

I tried the Milanese Loop Band and I loved it. It felt good and was very easy to put and take off. In fact, when I got back from the Apple Store, I ordered the band.

Without a question, the link.

I was open to the milanese, especially given the price difference. I hated how it felt. It was either too tight or was too floppy. it didn't look nearly as good as the pictures made it out to be. It looked a bit unfinished to be honest. The link bracelet was beautiful.

I was disappointed by the link bracelet in person also. The engineering is outstanding, with the ease of removing links, but it just doesn't look good. On the watch, it makes the face and band look like one piece and that's just not how good watches are supposed to look IMO especially when the link bracelet is supposed to be the most expensive band option. The Casio comparison isn't far off.

I mean, look at the most popular watches out there and look at their steel bracelets. They all have a similar look, different sized links coming together in harmony. I don't know why Apple would go and choose this one piece horizontal link. So blah. Your band has a distinct style and so does the face. You achieve that with the Milanese loop which is absolutely beautiful and a classic.

The price of the band shouldn't be surprising to high end watch owners. Steel bracelets can cost up to $700 for certain brands. But you also expect a little weight and heft to them. It's why you choose them and pay the premium over leather bands when you're watch can take both. It give your watch a presence. The link bracelet is void of that and $500+ just seems really tough to swallow.

Again, all just my opinion. I'm glad Apple has given us the options.

Ok, google shopping search Milanese watch. Tell me how different the Apple Milanese looks from 90% of the others. Fail.

Im fully aware of Milanese watches and as a watch fanatic I can categorically say that the link bracelet is far more common esp in the mainstream market.

Again. Ridiculous statement

You're not getting it. I'm not saying the Milanese is more common. It's dated, but I think Apple did a great job at offering it.

Link bands are more common without a doubt. This link band was simplistic, but well designed IMO.

The point I made is that if someone says the Apple watch link band isn't unique and looks like another watch makers design, then take a look at the Milanese loop. It without a doubt resembles many other watch makers offerings as well.

Your repeated "ridiculous statement" replies are childish
