Reports on Twitter OS X Lion will be made available for download in the next 24 minutes.
Geez! You got those speeds in DC? I'm in DC with Verizon also and mine isn't even remotely close to that.
Circulating reports show that the servers are live in 15.
Circulating reports show that the servers are live in 15.
And where exactly are these "reports" coming from?
Will we be able to install Lion on multiple Macs?
I'm actually about 35 minutes from DC. I don't know if that makes a difference.
Not all of us. Here is Aussieland I'm getting 15Mbps/0.9Mbps.FCK youse!! haha, here in australia we might have iPhones on like 5 carriers and a better dollar than the US. BUT my internet connection is 512kbps down 128 up...... We here in aussieland have slow internet.
I don't get why everyone is so convinced this is going to be a disaster and slow down the entire internet. I for one doubt the average Mac user is champing at the bit to upgrade Lion on release day, considering the recent article about iPhone 4 owners thinking they have 4G. Most of them probably don't even know Lion is being released, or that it's an App Store-only purchase.[/QUOTE/]
Good point.
As someone new to computers (bought my first computer 5/10), had I not stumbled on MR 6 months ago (and become a daily reader), I never would have known as much about Lion.
It is true, however, that when you open Safari, Lion will be plastered all over the Apple home page. So even the "average user" will become aware of the Lion launch if they open Safari tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to some fun with Lion.![]()
Only if they use the default browser with the default homepage, but I guess that's something the average user does.
And since some of use seem to be playing the bandwidth game, here's where I stand right now:
