I know..! The internet speeds posted here make mine look like a blade of grass.

It's software. If Apple not releasing an operating system at the time of your preference is the only thing you find dwelling and being angry about, then you've got it made in life.
 
Should Apple have allowed people to pre-order Lion like on iTunes?

They could have then spread the downloads now everyone is gooa take part in the biggest experiment Apple has done and test the brand spanking new data centre...

I've been up all night waiting for this. My sources on Twitter said it was coming midnight EST. Four and half hours later I still don't have my OS X Lion. If I'm still sat here in another four hours I will be boiling with rage. There's no reason why Apple can't release it now the code has been released to developers weeks ago. It's just them screwing us around as usual.

Sounds like you have **** sources. Direct your frustration at them.
 
And what's all this talk about breaking the internet

The amount of HD video, leeching, music, porn and software that is being download worldwide is many many times greater than mac users downloading lion.

The weak point will be the app store servers but apple just built an enormous server farm so i dont think there will be a problem. Not max capacity but certainly not a terrible crawl. I would be VERY surprised if it crashed. Even Ubuntu can deliver software without issues.

I think Apple is truly innovative regarding their products. But this marketing -waiting for the big brother to speak - concept, gives a taste of totalitarianism, no joking. Of course just announcing "coming in July" is a big buck clever way to build up rumors and anticipation. But given the fact that Mac's are mostly professional tools this is not a professional way to treat the professionals.

I'm sure that the powers that be at Apple went to bed tonight, and thought, "How can we screw around with our customers tonight? Ohhh, I know! We won't release the OS at midnight like all of them want us to! We'll make them wait until the morning! HA! That'll show them!"

If I were you, I'd stop trusting your "sources" from Twitter. Any source that's from Twitter, isn't.

Maybe they are having to feed all the Hamsters at the data centre before they start work?

If it was when the Web was new it would have been typing Webcrawler into WebCrawler... Google didn't come around till much later. :/ get off my lawn
 
In support in the apps store, they have posted an update to SL ready for the migration to lion so you don't lose all your personal data. I am glad I checked:)
