Does anybody know if Apple releases software etc in Australia the same time as they do in the USA?

Of course not. It'll arrive late, overpriced, and with the Lion removed to conform to plain-packaging laws. Don't forget to factor in the carbon tax.

Best of luck.

I think Apple is truly innovative regarding their products. But this marketing -waiting for the big brother to speak - concept, gives a taste of totalitarianism, no joking.

Either that, or they are just - perfectly reasonably - launching it at a civilised time in the morning, in the country of origin.

One of the two...

:p

Multiple Macs

Just to clarify about installing Lion on all your Macs, this is in Apple's App Store Help:

Use applications on multiple Macs
After you purchase an application, you can install it free of charge on every Mac you use.

Here are ways to install a purchased application on another Mac:
On the other Mac, find the application in App Store, click Buy or Free, and then provide the Apple ID you used to purchase the application.

Copy the application from one Mac to another Mac. When you open the copied application on the other Mac, enter the Apple ID used to purchase it.

Open App Store on the other Mac, and then log in using the Apple ID used to make the purchase.

Click Purchases in the toolbar to list applications purchased. Any application that has an INSTALL option was purchased using the Apple ID, but not installed on the Mac you’re using. You can download and install the application on the Mac.

updates?

i've been on lion for about a month now.

how long after official release do we have to wait for 10.7.1 & safari 5.2 or 5.1.1 or whatever?

there are some pretty annoying bugs that could use some fixin.

Just wondering, you mention the "official release." When was the "unofficial release?"

I've been up all night waiting for this. My sources on Twitter said it was coming midnight EST. Four and half hours later I still don't have my OS X Lion. If I'm still sat here in another four hours I will be boiling with rage. There's no reason why Apple can't release it now the code has been released to developers weeks ago. It's just them screwing us around as usual.

Haha. You only have yourself and your flakey Twitter 'sources' to blame mate.

I'd expect them to do so. I've no idea what the back end to the MAS looks like, but if it's anything like that for the App Store it's a series of check boxes for all the countries. I'd image they'll hit 'Select All'.

A few hours ago I figured you were simply a Trolling Twitter. Now... it's actually gotten quite sad with the remote possibility you are being serious.

And what's all this talk about breaking the internet

The amount of HD video, leeching, music, porn and software that is being download worldwide is many many times greater than mac users downloading lion.

The weak point will be the app store servers but apple just built an enormous server farm so i dont think there will be a problem. Not max capacity but certainly not a terrible crawl. I would be VERY surprised if it crashed. Even Ubuntu can deliver software without issues.

i was joking.

i suppose the "unofficial" release was when the GM download became available for free on the internet for anyone that wanted it

I suppose then we should just say "After the product is released." Official or officially is used far too often (especially on this website), and incorrectly.
