Lion has been submitted for approval by Apple in the mac app store. Hopefully it doesn't get rejected! Haha.

Your app was rejected because of system tampering and breaking all the codes of conduct :p

Its wednesday 20th July here in the good old UK, its 10:05 and still the big cat hasnt arrived to the app zoo :(

Finally..the store is down!

Why are people talking about the Apple Store being down? It's the Mac App Store that is more relevant, surely?

So, apple have a download only OS with approx 4gb of data to download by how many people round the world? You hear that rumbling? Thats the apple servers shaking in their boots. Can anyone say OVERLOAD?

Apple Store Down = New MacBooks with OS X Lion
Apple Store Back Online = OS X Lion on Mac App Store

It would make sense if Lion was made available at the same time as the new/updated hardware (as these come pre-installed with Lion).

Also with hardware updates in the store, the product pages on the main site would need to be updated, so might as well update the Lion ones too, so the site isn't taken down twice.

Okay, so we'll be able to download Lion, and install it on all of the Macs we own.

My question is, as Lion is not an "app" as such, how do we transfer the purchased file to our other computers? I have four computers to update... but I don't want to download a 4GB file four times, even if three of those downloads will be free.

You can always copy the installer to a USB Drive or Burn to a DVD as per the instructions contained in a link at the top of the main page of MR.

How long is it usually down for updates?

Good question. An offline install would be nice, but I guess the purchase would still need to be validated on the App Store, so perhaps not...
