Lion Launches Tomorrow On Mac App Store

🙁 I'll be going to bed by the time it arrives. I was going to sacrifice my air and put Lion on it since I use it only for travel.
The big gun though has to wait until I test a slew of 15+ apps on it 🙁

It usually goes down later than this and is probably back around 2pm (ish) from memory.
The average Apple Store downtime is about 2 hours and 40 minutes.
So it'll be up at 12am NZT with Lion becoming available at the same time hopefully.

Haha I'm going on several days of sleep depravation (some personal stuff going on) and my brain is fried. My fingers are just kinda typing on auto pilot lol

Probably to avoid any problems with customers who are mid-purchase etc? Safest and most logical way to do it, I suppose.
This could really be it. You can't even get to the Mac screen anymore...perhaps to update to Lion pics?

So the version coming today, is it the same as the current Gold Master i'm running, or should i install the app store version? Because usually isn't Gold Master what gets released? Will there be any differences in the app store release?

Ah, okay, I missed that! I was confused because I wasn't sure if the Mac App Store would actually present you with a 4GB installer file that you could move around, or whether it would somehow install everything via the Store interface itself and not let you see any individual file.

I can’t believe this thread is at nearly a thousand posts. Either way, I’m hoping I can start my download before I go to bed, being on the East Coast of Australia.
Currently running my backup to make sure I’m protected.
I keep seeing it mentioned that it’d be the same build, however in the past I seem to recall Apple has held off on giving out the actual GM till when they actually ship the product, even if it is the same build. So I still have hope the build might have been updated in the last few days with something more stable. And I’m sure the build on the new hardware set too be released will be different and specific to that hardware anyway.

Lol, they were just messing with you man. No one knows. Just be patient now. Its almost here.
Do you think they design all the graphics right now? Or is it only one person that does the update? The probably have everything ready a month ago and the update is just a few clicks.
They messed around changing graphics last week, but took them back down within 20 mins.

The store is now down for updates so I guess we will be seeing some new hardware 🙂 I hope the new rumors on 9to5mac are wrong about the 64gb still being the base option and only 4gb..
