If it's real & current. I have my doubts. But also we don't have a view of the other side. If the new MBA doesn't have TB then fail of the decade. But I think Apple understands that & also needs TB to take off. It won't if the MBA doesn't have it b/c it tracking to be Apple's best selling computer.

Chupa, you don't think they would put an outdated MBA photo in a Lion release banner, do you?

The hype around Lion is drowning out the fact that we don't have enough solid info on the MBA and that portion of the picture is actually the bigger news story.

I think we've got a very serious problem with expectations around the MBA and it's going to be almost crushing if it's released with lower than 4GB of RAM as that will indicate that the pricing isn't "real." You'll need 4GB of RAM to run Lion and the cost of additional RAM will push the costs of the new MBA up closer to where Sony's new "MBA killer" is landing price-wise.

The MBA will still get purchased in high numbers but the lack of TB, no backlit keyboard, and insufficient RAM are going to put a major dent in sales.

I also fully expect Lion will release at least a week before the MBA which is going to be problematic for quite a few people especially since it's rumored that the MBA will be Apple store only.

That means that the crowds to get Lion will have to return if they also want the MBA on the 27th. The forced march to the Apple stores twice in one week will grate on people.

The reason Apple pulled MBA sales from Best Buy and other resellers is they want to keep all the margin for themselves - which is fine but the Apple stores aren't nearly sufficient enough for everyone.

I see danger and peril written all over this.

S is for the simplety
E is for the ecstasy
X is just to mark the spot:rolleyes:

Yes, sex is always the answer, it's never a question
'Cause the answer's yes, oh the answer's yes
Not just a suggestion, if you ask a question
Then it's always yes, yeah :apple:

From Mid-2010: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/11/04/macbook-air-display-glitc_n_778805.html

That is an old MBA picture

I just got an iMac 2 weeks ago and I've installed some Apps and stuff...but I'm all up to date.

I don't need to "clean" install anything do I?
I just hit the Lion DL button in the AppStore and I'm all set...right?

(Btw, I have Office 11...that's working good with Lion right?)

Correct...

With regard to office 2011 there are some minor bugs regarding scroll bars and communicator.

Go here for details:

Dude shut up.
You have no idea what you're talking about and you're trying to freak everybody out.

Show me a picture where you can clearly see there is no backlight...or thunderbolt...etc.

Why would Best Buy have no Airs for a week?

Lion and MBA's are coming out tomorrow whether you like it or not.
Stop trolling.

Not only that but take a look at the keyboard and note with great sadness that it is not backlit.

This post is the most devastating thing I've seen in all my years.

No Thunderbolt and no backlit keyboard on the new MBA.

All the rumors were wrong and this is a tragedy of epic proportions.

Um, WOW. I am as excited as the next guy, but jesus christ dude...

Psyched

Can't wait. Man, there's a lot of sad-sacks on this forum. Buck up! Lion's coming! It's going to be awesome, AAPL is up, things are rosy. Don't worry, be happy.

I'm predicting the app store's servers are gonna be crashing left & right from too many people trying to update it tomorrow. Either that, or download speed will be so slow it'll take ages to get it done.

Lion system requirements says 2gb ram required. Otherwise the MacBook non pro owners would be shut out.

personally i'm excited for the mba release, but because its intertwined with the lion release you have two parties of excited people pooling their enthusiasm into every thread that mentions either of the released items.

not me:)))

I'll be waiting a good week or 2 to see what everyone says before plunking down $30 (I have to work almost a whole hour for that kind of cabbage:eek:)

Slow download speed or agonizingly slow install on physical media. It's all the same to me.

I have one of the Mac Minis with the super-loud Superdrive that takes excessively long to install anything from because of the vibration. There's been no acknowledgement from Apple that I'm aware of. I installed Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 on my 2008 Macbook the other day in under an hour, but after over two hours on my Mac Mini installing from DVD I gave up and went to bed while it finished installing. 4 times the RAM in the Mini, Nearly twice the processor, twice the speed of Superdrive...but at least 3 times the amount of time to install the same software vs. my old Macbook. Interesting. /rant

Hi, does anynoe know if Apple will continue to support Snow Leapard after Lion is out....or is that the end of updates for Snow Leapard?
