This seems appropriate for my first post! Ordered my first Mac last week - MBP 15", 2.4Ghz, 200GB/7200rpm HD. :)

It's now 'Ready for Shipment'... I'm excited! :apple:!

I am now waiting for my first personally owned mac (detailed in sig) to ship :D

Very excited!!!

Should be here 31.03.08 latest complete with 1tb Time Capsule.

MBP (Penryn 2.5 GHz, 250 GB) just arrived!

My MBP just arrived (Monday, 3/3) after ordering it last Wednesday from Apple using free shipping. It looks like all computers shipped from China go via FedEx Int'l Priority, so no use paying the extra $$$ for one or two-day delivery. :) It arrived in a cardboard box (so, no shipping labels all over the nice MBP box). I haven't opened it yet since I'm at work, but I'll take a couple of photos when I get home.

I don't get it. I ordered overnight delivery on Thursday and it shipped out on Saturday but missed the fedex cutoff time in Shanghai by twenty minutes. I thought that would be fine since it would go out on Monday and arrive Tuesday - the next business day. It is now in transit, but the new arrival date is Wednesday instead of Tuesday, even though it shipped out on Monday.

What's the point of paying extra for next day when it's basically taking 31/2 business days to get to me from the time of my order?

I just got my MBP. BTO 2.6 with 200GB 7200, aperture, iworks, remote. I ordered it tuesday morning. I wasn't sure when I would get it as apple said it would arrive march 3-6th. It said prepared for shipping friday. It was then shipped, and arrived in Newark NJ yesterday morning. Fedex said delivery the 5th, Apple the 4th. Checked tracking this morning and there was a failed delivery attempt? I called fedex and as I was on the phone it was delivered!

It is wonderful. I am installing bootcamp right now.

Complain and get refunded your shipping costs... you have a record because you could track it... they can't argue with that surely?

Package Data Transmitted to Fedex

Mine has said this since last night:

"Mar 3, 2008 1:23 AM Package data transmitted to FedEx"

I'm in PST and I think it was about midnight my time when this appeared. Anyone have anyidea what timezone the 1:23AM would be? I would have thought it Shanghai time, but it definitely wasn't at that time.

Anyway it looks more and more like they will fulfill the latest of the delvery estimates they gave me (3rd -6th). :-(

Shanghai is about 15 hours ahead of PST, so I'm not sure if that 1:23 AM time makes sense as Shanghai time. FedEx really should use GMT for their time postings to avoid confusion.

I would assume they use local time. My package status on FedEx website changed exactly at the local Shanghai time.

Anyways, my package has been in transit for more than 40 hrs. How long does it usually take to get through transit?:(

Me too man. It says left and in transit. Is it going to Alaska or something? Or does it still have to get on the plane?

From the other tracking details people have copied and pasted in here, it shows people's packages either going from China to Japan within a couple hours or going from China to Alaska within the day. I've been stuck "In Transit" for about 36 hours or so now with no change...

I finally ordered the base model Penryn MB!! :D
with upgrade of 200GB 7200rpm, apple remote and VMWare Fusion.
Shipping Date is 07/03/08-11/03/08
Delivery Date 11/03/08-13/03/08

two weeks there about till I get my MBP!
Wish it delivers by next Friday!
Oh man! I received my order for VMWare Fusion today at 3plus in the afternoon! It sure is fast for Apple delivery.

I just wish my MBP will arrive as fast. Though Apple Co. is just situated next to my office!!! URRGH!

Last checked status: Not yet shipped.
I can't have any luxury of FedEx tracking though. :( It's all through the online status check on Apple Online Store.

Dreaming of my MBP ..... :p

My best guess is - the package left Shanghai on Monday evening (local time). FedEx website states the cutoff time to be 4pm. So, it should reach US soil perhaps late tonight or early tomorrow morning and be delivered on Wednesday. Apple's shipping confirmation mail tells me that it would be delivered on Wednesday. How about yours?
