When I ordered mine, standard shipping gave March 3-7 while 2-3 business days gave March 3-6. I'm leaving for a conference this weekend so even this one day is critical to me thus I paid extra $15. But from what people have posted here, it seems this $15 doesn't really make things that faster. I suspect all of our machines (yours, Sirius's and mine) will arrive this week:apple:

That's sad, except for the fact that you know _for sure_ it would come before 6th. I would say, its better to be safe, than regret.

Yeah, we should hopefully get it by Wed. latest.

From the way they handle the shipping, I think what I paid for is just the right to ask for a $15 refund if it's late:(

I thought it was 18 for the 2-3 day shipping?

If it is late, you can always ask them to give you a free apple remote. That's what a guy did here.

I ordered through ADC hardware store so maybe the shipping fee is slightly cheaper. If I can't receive it this Wed, I will certainly call them to complain. But I'd rather it arrive on time:D
 
This is so disspointing.

Well, it's about 2:37 AM in Shanghai so I expect 8 more hours or so until the packages ship or something.

Oh no...so it will be In transit next? Damnit. Noooo...need MBP now.

Looks like it takes three hours from china to alaska. Atleast that's good?


EDIT: I cracked and called Apple. I know. :(

They said that my order is on a plane right now and left China long before and set to arrive shortly in Anchorage, Alaska. Woo.
 
I'm excited too finally ordered mine this afternoon for my first mac after debating for the last week.

tip for free shipping So this is how I got free overnight shipping... accidentally, but you could try and produce the same results with your credit card. I ordered it and then after I got my confirmation email I went to apple.com to check my order status. It said there was an urgent error they couldn't process my credit card. So I call 'em up they say that I have to call my credit card company to authorize the charge.. so I do that... no problem (nice of Visa to look out for me). So I call :apple: back to say that the charge is clear and they can rerun the transaction. She does rerun it and it goes through fine.

Then she tell me "This is going to cause the shipment to be delayed...:mad:(keep in mind this is all of 15 minutes after I placed the order and i'm about to get pretty mad...) but then she says... "i'll just upgrade you to overnight shipping at no charge!!! Your delivery will be on or before March 7!!! yippeee (so hopefully it will happen and I will get mine thursday or friday)

so there are 2 morals to the story: if you have your credit card company block payment and then fix it apple will be nice and upgrade your shipping or maybe they won't but you could use this as and example and convince them to do it. Apple apparently immediately begins making your order and there are so many mbp being made that in 15 minutes your order will be delayed more than a day if you get out of line.....;)... doubtful, but that's what they said...


:::to someone above who bought vmware fusion from apple, you could buy it from amazon for quite a bit less at the moment and no tax $42.50 with rebate...
 
Got mine this morning

Mine arrived this morning, and I'm using it right now!

I had been following the shipment tracking and didn't expect it today because it was in TN yesterday (I live in UT). It arrived early in the morning, but I only had time to plug it in and go to work. Now that I'm home and it's up and running, I'm making up for lost time.

I haven't read the whole thread, but I can't be the first one, right?

The shipping status of my order just got updated. It took them 28 hours to change from "left origin" to the next step "in transit" which both happened in Shanghai -_-

It's not fair, seems my MBP just hang around Shanghai for one day and then went up the same plane with yours:(
But as long as they arrive on time, that's ok:D
 
mine shipped

Got a shipping confirmation mail from the german apple store yesterday.

My problem is, I can't track it. I just have the Apple order number and the store shows no additional information and no external link on how to track it.

Any idea?
