MBP 15" upgraded to 250gig HD, along with a 1T TimeCapsule

Going to OWC to upgrade the RAM to 4gig
 
FINALLY, I ordered a MBP. I have been watching since the last G4 revisions :eek:, and now :D I got one!

Ordered: 2-26 @ 8:00 pm caliverse
2.5GHZ
200GB 7200 rpm

Status:not shipped, shipping 2/28 - 3/03
conditions of shipping: "Items may arrive as they become available."

Does this mean I will get a remote before I get the device? Too bad it's not a shuffle too, that would be cool. Ubiquitous music integration prevails :p

I am hopeful it will arrive before the end of next week. I will have a copy of CS3, Sketchup, and MSO ready to install once I receive it, then I will have the entire weekend to document and advertise my projects from this quarter.

How come those in Europe are getting same or slightly quicker delivery times if they ordered the same time I did?

Maybe I'm overlooking something. Either way, the countdown continues...haha
 
I ordered overnight shipping yesterday at 12 noon time, EST, through EPP, and my order has been "Prepared for Shipment" since yesterday. I just called the Apple number and the lady was no help to me. I am pretty mad, and it is saying it may not arrive until March 4th. That does not seem like $27 overnight shipping to me. When I selected overnight shipping, I was expecting to have it in my hands by now...

And I ordered a stock, baseline model. Nothing BTO.
 
I just noticed the shipping time listed in the online store changed. base 15" changed from 1-3 days to 1-2, and 17" from 2-4 to 1-2. but the middle 15" stays 2-4. so it seems the middle 15" model is the most popular one (not surprising). i ordered the middle 15" model 26th night, the order is still "not yet shipped" :(

I got 15" 2.5 as well with 7200
My status is: prepared for shipment for the past 12 hours.
 
17" LED causes big delays?

i think it is the 17 HR LED screen that causes the ship date to be so far out there. i'm afraid it is gonna be very hard to wait that long... luckily i live in phoenix and we have spring training here this month.

are others with the 17 HR LED seeing similar ship dates, or did they single me out to teach me a lesson about patience?

Released from Alaska

My stock 2.4GHz MBP made it from Shanghai to Alaska as of today (ordered on Tuesday). The tracking also says "Intl'l shipment release" for the Alaska location. It's en route to northern California, by the way.

Estimated delivery still says Monday before 10:30am.

I guess I'll spend the weekend throwing a goodbye party for my trusty old PB G4 667.

I FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!:D:D:D

I'm sooooo happy that Apple FINALLY updated the MBP's so I could replace my poor, old, falling apart, cracked iBook!:eek: I was finally able to convince my dad to get it for me for college the day after they came out. I've been waiting for about 5 months!

I got this:

4GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x2GB
250GB Serial ATA @ 5400 rpm

I also ordered Apple Care and a 500 GB Time Capsule!

It was all placed together on Feb. 27th at 7:56 PST. After having some trouble with the authorization of the credit card, (did anyone else have this problem with their credit card???) the Apple Rep upgraded my shipping and said it should get here on March 4th.

So, right now it says "Not yet shipped" but says "Ships by: Feb 29 - Mar 4
Delivers by: Mar 4 - Mar 7". I'm SOOOOO EXCITED!!!:D
 
my 15" Matte BTO 2.5 with 7200rpm hdd just shipped right now :D

ordered a 15" 2.4ghz with 200gb 7200rpm + apple remote

expected shipping on March 12th, expected delivery on March 25th-26th :(

Finally those crazies overseas prepared my computer for shipment. I order this laptop the morning it was announced for gods sakes and all i changed was the screen from matte to glossy and it took them 4 days to build it?!?!?! :rolleyes:

Looks like i wont be getting it until next week.:(
 
I ordered my 15/2.4 MBP tuesday at 8:29am PST. It was just updated to "Prepared for Shipment".

I made the following changes/upgrades:
- glossy screen
- 250GB HDD

Both 17" screens are delaying things. The Matte (mine) ships March 6-11. The Glossy screen is taking a bit longer as you can see.
 
Made it to Oakland!!

The tracking now shows that my new MBP has landed in Oakland! Just last night it was in Alaska. The estimated ship date is still Monday, but I'm increasingly hopeful that it will get on a truck today!
 
15" 2.6 Ghz with aperture, iworks, remote, 200GB 7200 HD. Apple says it is prepared for shipping. Hopefully it will ship soon!

Edit: I orded it tuesday at 6:35am PST
 
Mine has finally actually shipped. It's still in China though, and I ordered overnight so I'm not sure if it will get here in time, but I hope I get it tomorrow. I should get it tomorrow.
 
Looks like the 17" MBPs are in lower supply/demand and are therefore taking longer to ship out. I ordered within an hour or two from the store coming back up on tuesday and it isn't supposed to ship until March 7th-10th. I'm seeing this trend here in this thread.
 
I ordered mine on Tuesday and arrived on Thursday at 10:30 AM with standard shipping. I can't believe it only took 48 hours to get from China to PA.

was it the LED high res?
was it glossy or matte?

i think the LED high res adds time and the glossy adds even more time... i'm guessing yours was the LED HR matte

if its the glossy, then i'm kicking myself for waiting a day or two to order.
