I tried to be a little sarcastic.. check smiley :D ---> <---
Rolleyes is what it's called - I know that I'm definitely going to bed tonight - U.S is 9 hours behind compared to us Europeans.. :p So I'd have to wait that much longer...

No we don't... we see it the same moment the rest of the world will see it.

See it this way: we're 9 hours ahead of their time :D

im on a winxp pc right now, just waiting for the new mbp to arrive.
i need it to be here in germany by march the 14th.......if apple doesnt release new mbp tuesday and makes them avaible immediately its probably not gonna make it.

wish me luck ;)

I wish you luck as I am hoping to get it to germany this even month :p

I wonder will it be pink?

engadget adds some more fuel to the fire, please dont let these be new macbooks that would really piss me off
http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/25/yep-new-macbook-part-numbers-are-in-best-buys-database/

I would be pissed too, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Why would they update MB and make it better in some areas compared to the MBP. Heck if it is MBs tomorrow I might just have to get a new MB and ditch the Pro. I can't wait to wake up and see the store down tomorrow.

If the prices are right I dont think its going to be the macbooks at all. Also the dimentions lead me to think that they have just changed the Model number scheme

Is it possible that :apple:'s just consolidating or re-arranging their model naming scheme?

I also like how Best Buy says they'll be in stock on Sunday, March 2nd, since that's the one day of the week that it's impossible for shipments to arrive on.

Which update??

Hi everyone I'm quite new to the forums and new-ish to the mac world (I'm still a bird weighting to break out of the Windows world as soon as I can afford a new MBP). I just had a question in regards to the waiting. I honestly don't know whether I should act on my impatience and buy the new MBP's with the penryn updates this next few days, or wait for the Montevina/Centrino 2 chips?? I was hoping someone out there would be able to justify whether I should or shouldn't wait. Oh and if I am posting in the wrong thread, I it was unintentional and stand for correction:) . Just any help would be great. Thanks guys.

I understand how easy it is to fall into mania for something new but the Penryn was designed for the Cantiga chipset - they actually had to downgrade it so it could accept a measly 800 Mhz front-end bus speed. If you're smart you would see that if you wait 3 more months you'll get the penryn in its native environment (Montevina) with 3.06 GHz and 1066 bus speed. Maybe the better word is 'patient' :p They're saying the Bloomfield is the biggest thing since Pentium and will start shipping in the 4th Q of 2008, so that makes it Oct-Nov-(DEC)... maybe I'll wait

Actually, Best Buy gets shipments in on Saturday nights which would make Sunday, March 2nd very possible for Best Buy to release them...

I've been waiting since December for the new MBPs but I'm still not convinced. If everyone remembers correctly this whole "new model numbers" has happened before and there were no new MBPs. I want them just as bad as anyone but I'm going to assume the only "new" product tomorrow will be Time Capsule. Who knows, maybe that will be delayed like the SDK.

That just injected patience into me... which is a seldom thing for me... i usually loath in impatience... lol... thanks:cool:

Too bad I need it before March 13th for school otherwise I wouldn't even be dabbling in this thread. I hope it's released tomorrow, my father is making me order one tomorrow regardless. I think that the new Penryns are't going to be the biggest thing on the new MBP's, the addition of Blu-ray and a beefed up GPU would be better than the processor upgrade. I hope they don't even touch the design...it's beautiful the way it is. Hopefully if I absolutely don't like the new model I can still pick up the old one. Geeze...Is it just me or is this thread starting to loose momentum?

Is it possible, the wait is over? Now all I need to decide is whether to get 17" or 15" matte or glossy and Ill be a happy camper :D

I think Montevina will definitely be a great step, but I'm don't think they'll be released in 3 months in new MBP. Apple will wait a few months until they put them in. Some people have been waiting months for this new update and it would be crazy to wait even longer. It's not worth playing a waiting game unless you don't need a new machine. I've only been waiting for the updates for the last few weeks and I'm already ready for it to be over.

It's A MacBook

Bad news, guys. I have a friend who works in Cupertino, and I couldn't help texting him to bug him about what it'll be tomorrow among all these conflicting reports. Well, he sent me an email with a teaser photo of the new MacBooks - NOT Pros. Yeah, I know. We'll keep waiting, but until then, the MacBooks are apparently making the aluminum switch. Bummer...it's like Apple's trying to tell us something.

Yeah, you wanna see. Well...here it is:

Everyone who believes they will et Montevina in June-July are dreaming...Aug-Sept is more like it, and thats definitely way too much waiting, at least for me, where Im just sick and tired of wintels.

haha I love it.

hey... I know this isn't really the right forum- well actually I guess since its just title "waiting" we can really talk about anything- but I just burned a buddy of mine in Iraq a few DVDs and its really the first time I've ever used my DVD burner, but after the first couple it started becoming really noisy. It still reads/writes fine but, like right now, I don't even have a disc in there and it is extraordinarily loud. I can't even hear the TV. Anyone else?? Thoughts? :(
