I ordered my first Mac!

MBP:
2.5GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
MacBook Pro 15-inch Widescreen Display
2GB 667 DDR2 SDRAM - 2x1GB
200GB Serial ATA @ 7200 rpm
SuperDrive 8X (DVD+/-R DL/DVD+/-RW/CD-RW)
Backlit Keyboard/Mac OS - U.S. English
Accessory Kit

Sadly, I'll be on Spring Break this week, so I'll get it when I get back!

I just KNEW they would be updated this month!!! Glad I waited. Now
what to get-the 15 or 17 hi-res led screen?

Better trackpad, penryn processors, and fantastic new video card!!!!!

Oh man, its time to drop the hammer.

can someone explain to me the importance of the NVIDIA graphics card compared to the standard one in the macbook. because I just might end up getting a macbook and up'ing the ram to 4GB

Depends on what you're doing. NVIDIA will be out of business come monteniva time this summer anyways so go with the macbook if you're not a heavy gamer or graphic designer

15" or 17", please help me decide. Price is no issue but I'm concerned about the weight-to-value (of a larger display) ratio. Please help!

Will there be a standard off the shelf 17" hi-res at the stores? Just curious what the off the shelf hi-res configuration would be. The previous model off the shelf was 2.6/hi-res/7200rpm/etc for $3349.00.

I don't know why on earth you'd get the Air if you're a graphic designer... that doesn't make any sense.

its tough my friend... its tough... I'm in the same boat - I'm on the early 2006 macbook Pro right now. And you know what happened when I bought this? 3 months later they came out with the Core Duo 2... I've been scarred for life. They're not gonna get me this time :p If I were you I'd def wait. You'll be getting a much better/faster system with a graphics card option of 1 GB on board memory most likely. ARE YOU WITH ME! hahah - sorry

Not to mention- if you can wait- come December the Nehalem will be available for purchase and theyre calling that the biggest thing in 18 years since the Pentium was introduced. Mac's logic boards are getting completely redesigned, so to be prudent of this it may behoove you to wait.

I'm am going to the store today!!!
I'm so happy the keyboard stayed the same.
It's exactly what I wanted, new precessor, multi-touchpad, upgrade on the video. SWEET!!

Later peeps.

OrdereD!

Change my status to "ordered"

Love this day, sadly I have to wait until march 7 for the predicted delivery :)

Did anyone notice that the UK specs don't include the 17" LED screen and it only has 256mb 8600GT?

They have updated the site, because the new Penryn cpu's are on the specs. That doesn't look good.

Edit : I noticed that the text description says 17" LED 19xx 1080. However when it comes to configuring the laptop, the 17 LED screen option is not there. Is that a lottery?

Done

I ordered it and couldn't be more excited. All you nay sayers can keep on equivocating and making up excuses but there will never be a time when there is not a better model right around the corner. I'm sure by next monday there will be a new thread praying for montevina or whatever. I just bought one of the best laptops in the world and that's that.
