If you lived in Alaska, you'd have it by now.
Not if you live in Barrow, because those unfortunate souls have to wait another couple of weeks while the dog train makes its way through the tundra

question, if i go into the new york store on 5th ave and ask for a MBP would i be able to get one immediately?
these are the speces i want:
2.5ghz
250gb or 300gb HD
hi res matte screen
Ordered. It will ship the end of March. Oh, the pain of waiting.
I currently own a MBP 17" and Mac Pro.
My MBP crashes and renders slowly when I am editing and compositing. I hope the new one fares better because I cannot drag the Mac Pro to work.![]()

same here
been stuck waiting since 3:43 AM
I'm not really impressed with this update (because I was hoping for a revision). I'd say the most meaningful thing is the GPU, which is nice for people who play games or do any sort of visual editing. I was hoping that the 2.6 would be standard for the high end, but alas no... still gotta shell for the BTO option. Also because the only thing that was bumped was the CPU speed (kinda) and the L2 cache, I'm waiting for Montevina (and hopefully a case update). If I wanted the ones out now I would just by a 7 month old one off ebay, which would be pretty much just as fast as these 'updates'. Here's hoping they don't find a way to make Montevina just an update.

I'm with you. Very happy for all that just purchased the MBP - especially the first time MAC owners - but I'm really looking forward to the next gen in both design and performance.
Glad you recognize that, for me I cant wait, since Ill be waiting using PC, and Id rather switch now![]()
If I were you I would buy immediately. You'll have a great laptop and the best OS out there. Congratulations!
I can't wait to switch to Intel but ... I'm going to wait just a bit longer (flash forward to 2025 ... just a bit longer lol)
We will have to agree to disagree. Some of it comes down to taste and preference. But I know I'm not the only one who shares my opinions - more than a few tech writers agree that the current design of the MBP is getting very dated. And we'll both have to see how we feel when the form finally changes - and soon I hope. I'm pretty sure (based on the iphone, imac, and MBA) that I'll be just as excited as I was in 2003 (although I never liked the keyboard and felt it was a step down from typing on the Pismo).
