Did you read what they write on that site??

Quote/MiniBatteryLogger spotted the upcoming MacBook Pro (Late 2008)./Unquote :mad:

LATE 2008 - I hope that's a joke

I just saw that - but I think that must be added by the site, as the entry in the logs does not mention the 'late 2008' part - only the 'MacbookPro4,1' part...

I am hopeful for the 5th...

sounds like you may need to be swayed from the belief that you "take good care of it", given you describe it as having chipped edges. that kind of damage requires some effort, or an admirable amount of negligence.

The chipped edges are from where the indents on the macbook (by the internal magnets) come down. Every time you shut it, it digs into it (not now because it's not there). It is like a strip of the plastic just kinda tore off. The edges themselves are actually fine, that's what I meant.

My friend has a MBP, and I just don't get the same feeling when I use his...his feels much more sturdy. If they do release an upgraded specs version, and lower the prices on the "current" models, will they still continue to produce these models? Or will I be looking the refurb. route?

(here is what i thought was a some-what common occurence on the MB's: http://babygotmac.com/a/macbook-case-cracks-on-wristpad/ )

Wow. What is that about? Not funny at all.

I didn't see anything about that on that site either. Maybe I am looking at the wrong spot or something, but I didn't see anything about that. Regardless though, I am quite certain that with all the buzz, there is no way it would be released in LATE 2008. (Maybe not in the anticipated time frame that most of us are expecting, but surely not as late as the fourth quarter.)

The fifth sounds good to me; although I'm not too sure why.
Probably because it's the closest Tuesday..

I doubt it would be launched on Feb. 5th. All media will be covering Super Tuesday results.

It will generate a lot more buzz to release it in the following week. It will also give time for the MacBook Air hype to settle down. I'd say by the end of Feb. / early Mar., it will happen.

I am eagerly waiting from new MacBook Pro models. Ready to purchase as soon as they are released. I will get a 15-inch model.

I'm not sure if I need to keep coming back and visiting to ease my shakes, or if it's just driving me crazier every post that I read.

Come Monday or Tuesday, I will have all the funds I need to make my purchase. The longer that it sits there, the harder it's going to be for me!

Apple really likes to just drag our feet don't they? (I saw our because I'm pretty sure we're feeling more pain than they are.)

i feel the same way. im here way too much. i wouldnt have to be it just came out already

I don't think that they are going to do any type of media event.... I think it will be a semi-silent update. Super Tuesday is a possibility in my opinion.

What do you guys think? Silent or media?

I would say "Silent"!!!

I hope it will come tuesday and I hope that they just decide to do it in a silent manner. I would love to wake up that morning and check :apple: apple.com (like I do EVERYDAY:rolleyes:) and see the new MBP!! Who is with me??

I don't understand the obsession with Blu-Ray. Am I just anti-Sony or does no one else see the economic advantages of HD DVD?

Try space. HD-DVD's 30GB compared to Blu-ray's 50GB (the main reason I'm pro-blu ray). They pretty much share everything else though. Anyone who says one looks/sounds better than the other is crazy (HD in general is awesome).

But it doesn't really matter, HD-DVD pretty much already lost. And no, that wouldn't make you anti-Sony. It would make you anti-Apple, Denon, Hitachi, LG, Matsushita (Panasonic), Pioneer, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, and Thomson.

Yeah this really. I forget when it was, but on the frontpage of this site, it had some pie chart that showed the market share between HD-DVD and BluRay, and it was quite obvious the the bigger portion of the pie (and I'm talking like, a large portion of that thing) was dedicated to BluRay. The simple fact is that more studios and companies are switching to the BluRay standard rather than HD-DVD, and to jump on the HD-DVD boat would be pretty much jumping on to a sinking ship

Anybody thinking Super Bowl ad? :p

But seriously, I think within the next few weeks it will be announced. I sure hope so as I'm waiting for this update to make the switch to my first Mac.

Am I the only one hoping for a full size keyboard with a num-pad on the 17" model?

EDIT: Add me to the list for a 17" the day it comes out. I can't wait :D

MBP vs MBA

Must see what MBP upgrade is before selecting it over MBA, I need a new machine, my 4-year old PowerBook G4 is ready to retire.
