I'm still on the waiting list.

I hoped to make myself a big x-mas present but think it'll become an easter egg just like my DSLR last year.

Hope tomorrow will ease my frustration - think I'm gonnna buy whatever shows up as new tomorrow, even if it's pink :)

So Steve we just jumped the 1500 posts here with at least $1.000.000 of cash waiting here for you, so give us what we want and we'll make you a bit richer

I'm hanging on as well.....

I want portable power as I have lost my desk space at home.

I hope they are released soon so I can pick one up in the US in March and make use of the only good thing thats left about the UK economy....the strong pound;)

I will pick up an MBP from Regent Street no matter what on Wednesday. Given the 14 day no questions asked exchange period, I can simply exchange it with the new model should it come up in Feb - I strongly doubt it will appear after the Feb.26 event, which is covered with the 2 weeks....I need a Mac, and I need it by Weds. Waiting more is simply futile, compared to the productivity loss we are all incurring in this turkey shoot...

they charge 10% re-stocking fee for opened box.

They didn't say it explicitly.

If the item is returned unopened, in the original box, we will exchange it or offer a refund based only on the original payment method.

I'll ask in store, just to make sure this is the case. I had previously bought a harman/kardon soundsticks set from Regent street, used it for over a week and returned it visibly used (but not damaged) within the grace period and got the full money back...would be surprised if the same would not apply to their own laptops...

I dont know about everyone else but I am going to hold off until at least the end of the month. If they don't announce anything on the 26th then I might seriously consider going and buying one. I am not in a hurry but after spending the weekend playing with my buddy's MBP I am excited to get one myself.

After a week to calm down after being let down by Apple last week...... i'm back! This really will be the last day that i wait. If nothing happens, i'll buy a MacPro.

I would really like a portable, but not buying the current model as it's out of date.

So here's to tomorrow!!!

count me in!

count me in guys! can't hardly wait! but even if they announce something tom, do you think there will be available units for purchase already? or will there be another 2 weeks wait.. the suspense is killing me!

At least we'll know whats going on. I dont mind waiting a few weeks, if that's what it takes. But i just want to know what the deal is with Penryn.

Do you guys honestly think that penryn is worth the wait?

Personally, I am satisfied with the speed of the Current SR's.

What I am looking for is a graphics card update, multi-touch, and something other than the processor.

I won't mind a 2 week wait. I need to spend my money ASAP, as the alternative is to pay for miles on my United Mileage Plus account (what a waste!) to get me enough miles for a free ticket to Europe (I'm just a little short, damn it!).

If the MBP is not updated by the last Tuesday in February, I'm getting an XPS (wth the 2.5 GHz Penryn). Who knows, I may still wind up with a MBP after that -- Dell has a 21 day return policy, and you have to be dumb to pay their restocking fee (I'll just say the hard drive's too noisy or some such). If the MBP is not updated 3-weeks into March, then I guess we two were not meant for one another. I'm sure XPS will do fine, and I'll have a few extra dollars in my pocket to spend in Europe :)

Where do you see the XPSes with Penryn processors?

You can add me to that list (if it's still being maintained)

Waiting for MacBook Pro 15" Penryn (to replace PowerBook G4)

(also waiting for iPhone 3G 32GB)

www.dell.com (go configure :))

The M1330 is available with all flavors of Penryn. The M1530, at least on the US site, does not yet have Penryns (although I saw a link to Penryn equipped M1530s on Engadget the other day, but it may have been Dell Australia). BTW, Sony's FZ series is also available with Penryn (shipping next week). So Apple seems to be late to the dance, again.

What do you have now?

Guys,

With this talk of a potential silent update of the MBP, how many times in the past (apart from the recent 2.6 which hardly qualifies), have they been updated silently? Don't they normally come out at some Apple event or press conference or something?
