so i was at the apple store... playing with an MP Air.

the older guy who was an apple employee walked over and asked if i had any questions. i said no but my mother who just poped into the store said that i was waiting for a MBP. we were talking and he kept repleating that he knew nothing about the MBP. sound supicious?

i was also sitting in front of a 15" MBP and all these kids came out of nowhere, they were trying to get onto the internet so i told them. all of a sudden i looked up (somebody was calling me) and i started to walk to the front of the store and every single empty mac that i passed had the webkins site up on the screen! it was crazy. i couldnt believe it.

Add me to the list! My current rig is a Single 1.8Ghz PowerMac G5. It will be heaven to have a 2.4/6Ghz C2D MacBook Pro. :D

It will most likely be 2.5/2.6.

This is intel's penryn lineup and pricepoint:
X9000 2.8 GHz, 44W, 6MB, $851
T9500 2.6 GHz, 35W, 6MB, $530
T9300 2.5 GHz, 35W, 6MB, $316
T8300 2.4 GHz, 35W, 3MB, $241
T8100 2.1 GHz, 35W, 3MB, $209

The T9500 and T9300 are the corresponding processors price-wise to the current Merom processors in the macbook pro. This will close the gap between the two MBP models from 200Mhz to 100Mhz which will mean that you can expect something new on the Highend models that won't be in the lowend. 512Mb 8600??? Blu-ray??? High-resoloution display standard? Who knows, but there will be something specilal.

Did they tell you that in Regent Street? And will it all be written on the reciept? If that's the case I will buy an MBP no matter what on Tuesday afternoon, I'm almost positive there will be the new MBP within 28 days...

i got told at brent cross, i was told it was standard apple policy (i am a business customer) check with regent st and let me know. i think the 28 day exchange must be across the board

Just picked up the entry-level 2.2 GHz SR MBP yesterday. Apple guy told me I can exchange it within 14 days if a new one does come out without any problems (may be a lie). But i really needed one for school. Couldn't wait any longer.

Thanks for this. I shall be visiting Regent Street on Tuesday afternoon, to either order the updated MBP or get the existing one should the 28 day policy be confirmed (ie. printed on the reciept)... Will let you know by Tuesday afternoon...

I've had my MBP for over 7 months and can't stop loving it! It feels like a brand new machine every time I use it. Beautiful and lightning fast. :)

...what?

What is it?

A cult! It's Beanie Babies for the internet generation. They have dogs and cats and others, and they hook your little cousins in and they make you play with and register the dolls on-line for 3 hours Christmas day... you notice my personal experience here?

Nooooo they're polluting the mac with that filth? Terrible. My little sister plays on the site. It's like crappy flash games. I'm like "why don't you just go find some flash games that DON'T COST ANYTHING!?" Plus the characters disgust me.

haha my cousin bought a webkin for her mom on Christmas. We laughed our asses off at the retarded website and photos. I had no idea it was so popular haha.

You can change my status to "purchased standard 2.4 Ghz MBP". :p

As mentioned before in this thread, I had been waiting for a very long time to buy an MBP (I am a -what SJ would call- "switcher"). Normally, I wouldn't have bought one so close to an update, but a new laptop was necessary. I ordered it this Tuesday once it came clear hey wouldn't update it that day, received it a day later (I ordered the 2.4 standard model)...and I must say, I haven't been disappointed with making that decision for one second, so no buyer's remorse for me.

I've been reading these forums for a year or two now (only an active member since 2 months or so) and I've collected and read many informations, opinions and complaints because I wanted to be sure about swiching to Mac and I must say...all the positive things I've read about Macs, well they are true. :) I've had my share of OSs over the years (many versions of windows and linux), but nothing compares to OS X. The ease of use, the fast apps loading times and the flexibility is outstanding. I've only been using it for a couple of days, I know, but the true power of Macs are their OS. You know, I had actually made a list of programs I had been used to over the years and which I really needed in order to do the daily work and recreational tasks. At first, I was not keen to use the Mac equivalents.

When I received my MBP though, I decided to use the Mac equivalents to have a better experience and understanding of OS X (applications)...and well I can proudly tell you that yesterday I threw that list away , since everything that I used to do on windows, whether it was office, mathematical, programming programs or multimedia, I could now also do it (and better & easier !) with Mac applications.

Also and like I wrote earlier, I've been reading these forums for a long time now, and the helpfulness of the forum members is fantastic really. So I'm happy and proud to be part of this Mac community and I'll certainly share my own experiences with Mac and try to help out, like many others have helped out each other in these forums. :)

For those of you awaiting an update, I've tortured myself every Tuesday with great expectations, followed by deep disappointed, but if you don't really need a new MBP right away, just hang in there and I sincerely hope your patience will be rewarded ;):)

I kind of see what you mean but you could have at least waited until the 12th. I mean come on it would have been like what, a week longer? Plus this rumor citing the 12th. I mean I would have waited if I were you I guess. But everyone has their reasons.

It depends on the person. For example, my charger got overheated really badly the other week and stopped charging my laptop. I was freaking out because I had assignments to do and my laptop's battery won't last more than an hour. Luckily, I left the charger to cool down and started charging again but what if that wasn't the case and the charger would have been really gone? Of course, I could have gotten a new charger but that would be no fun...I would need a new laptop and waiting a week to see if Apple releases new MBPs was not an option.

if it is announced on the 12th...

Will them be available right away?
Or How many more days we may need to wait to have a new MBP in our hands?
How soon resellers like MacMall will have them available?
Any reference from previous updates?
