i Just hope they fix the problem, I don't want to spend $2000+ on a laptop that will die in a year or so.

But that's what AppleCare is for. Besides any computer can die in a year; just buy insurance and then dump in the river.

More importantly, if they do, what will the MBP offer to stay competitive? In effect the rumors point to a 13" MBP.

As an aside, I have to say the fact that everyone is beginning to doubt the 14th is a bit disconcerting. I really hope it isn't an issue where the 15th is here and there's no updates, but I really don't see Apple waiting a whole year to update the lines, especially when so many UK retailers are low/out of stock. o_O

That's my wireless mouse and 3G modem ^___^

LOL, if you're talking about MTG game, then may be I am that blessed Crovax from one of the latest releases. :D
PS. Sorry for the horrible offtop

Lol, i was talking about MTG :)

Didn't know they had a new Crovax o_O

The MacBook Brick

The MacBook Brick is a block of high-quality, aircraft grade aluminum.

It is the beginning of the new Apple manufacturing process to make MacBooks.

Advantages:

* Carving out of aluminum eliminates the need to bend the metal and create weak spots or microfolds and rifts.
* There are no seams in the final product, so it is smooth.
* Screws aren’t needed to tie the products together.
* The shell is one piece of metal so it is super light, super strong and super cheap.
* You can be a whole lot more creative with the design if you don't have to machine it.

Is this a result of this?

Nice update, thank you very much for the info!

I wonder how they manage to recycle all the aluminum debris that will be generated by this process?

Any idea where this plant is located?

"The newly designed MacBooks are still on target for an October 14th announcement and the press should be getting invites within the next few days. There are still so many questions to be answered. I am sure Steve Jobs will enjoy answering them."

Everyone is saying the 14th but what will most likely happy on the 14th...

Will the new MBPs will be released on the 14th? Or that they will be previewed on the 14th, and then come out later in the future?
