What about something like this the?

Considering that was put out a year ago I'd say its more forward thinking than the majority of more recent mockups we've seen on these boards. I think it looks too thin to handle the power under the hood but you never know what the "brick" could have to say about that.

I found this today: =| (Its a MBP?)

I can't imagine how EXPENSIVE it would be if the touchpad was like that... And i'd hate it too. Plus the black screen border. :|

and even more rumors...

Rumor: New MacBook and MacBook Pro Will Look Like Air + iMac

Source

Just in time for the rumored Oct. 14 MacBook event, AppleInsider has a source (notably without a track record) who's supposedly seen the new MacBook and MacBook Pro. Matching—or perhaps simply using—current speculation, the source says that the two will look like a cross between the MacBook Air and current iMacs, with tapering and black contrast material. Interestingly, it takes long-running rumors of an aluminum MacBook a step further, saying that it'll even look like it's part of the same product family as the MacBook Pro.

The MacBook Pro is also apparently getting a bit of a port scramble, moving to backwards-compatible FireWire 800 and dropping dual-link DVI in favor of Apple's mini-DVI port, a la the current MacBooks.

Most of Apple Insider's source's info matches up with current speculation, so it could be viewed as part of that stream of info, or more skeptically, as BS rumors have done before, using it. But, the timing for peekage is right, if in fact notebooks are due in a few weeks. Whether we'll indeed see them in a few weeks or later—which would seemingly make this less likely—is up in the air, and there are points to be argued for both.

Still, it seems likely based on everything in aggregate that the new MacBooks will be aluminum, and that we can expect to see some design elements from the Air in the new notebooks, based on Apple's overall design direction, whenever these damn things launch. [AppleInsider]

I think that the lcd trackpad is a cool idea, but not very practicle... how would one distinguish using the mouse and using the many other features I've seen people speculate about... like having the dock in the track pad, or coverflow like wuts shown above.... after awhile it might get annoying.

Besides being as ugly as sin, notice the poor Photoshop job on the trackpad. It doesn't even have the same image as the monitor. The albums on the sides are wrong. Anything like this is redundant anyways & how could u use that w/o a mouse?

Imagine how cool it would be if you could browse your files in cover flow on the touchpad/screen by flicking, then when you find your file, you flick up towards the monitor and it opens up there! SICK!

i think something like this will happen, remember the patent took out on the two turntables, it would fit in well with the iphone like trackpad

i really don't think we'll see the lcd trackpad.

I hope so.

Yup, I think I'd hate that so much I'd buy the previous generation one.

Those speakers' holes will be the most annoying thing in the world to keep your palms over them...

Anyway maybe I'm wrong and the idea behind them is to make you feel better because you are so hook up into texting with your iphone mini-touch-keyboard that you will never want to use the keyboard again.... :S

How much would you pay for the :apple: gloves ...?
