$99? Not bad. Not bad at all. I do have a HDTV and ipad at home so it would work well.

I'm in for an ATV. Will be ordering one as soon as it's available for pre-order. Did they state the output and specs?

This is the worst apple event I've ever seen. Everything was downgraded and the clickwheel died. The only thing good about it is the iPod touch. But even the iPod touch had its problem....the prices.

Bitch bitch, moan moan. How the hell do you think they got a retina display in there? IT COSTS MONEY.

Anyway, the Apple environment is expanding rapidly, buy your stock now.

Apple still seems to be oblivious to the fact their competition is red box, not super high prices cable/satellite VoD. $1.50 for Blu-Ray or $5 for iTunes. Apple us no reason whatsoever to switch from physical media.

Its Apple. You do it they way they prefer or you don't do it on their hardware.
guess i have to encode all my movies to apple format then :/

Boom goes the dynamite

iTV is going to be a winnah...

Apple will have those movies for $5 30 days before Redbox or Netflix has them... not saying I would pay for it.. but some people will.

Redbox is not the competition. Netflix is. Netflix has proven that streaming works. I'm frankly surprised Netflix is on the device. that is really killer :)

Standing in line for 10 minutes to return a redbox movie sucks

Considering getting one after writing off this product idea years ago.

+ infinity

I really look forward to connecting this new Appletv to my Pioneer Elite plasma and streaming HD/5.1 Netflix movies....mmmmmmmmmmm

now, come on HBO - Give me TrueBlood weekly episodes in HD!

Only streaming on apple tv? I think this feed has proven STREAMING DOESNT WORK.

Streaming works fine, i have no issues with it the vast majority of the time and my ISP sucks.

The trouble is i don't want to rent. I have kids. They watch the same shows over and over and over. Apple TV saves me money because after they bought 20-30 shows they slow down the buying and start watching the reruns. That doesn't save me a dime if i have to keep renting.

Can i still buy all the same shows on itunes? if so, why not on the Apple TV? Can't i have a choice still or is this part of the price deal they made with abc and fox?

So why couldn't they put the nice hard to crack silver screen on the back of the iPhone 4 like they did the new touch?

The CLASSIC IS GONE!!!!!!!

Bad move apple, bad move.

R.I.P iPod Classic
R.I.P Click Wheel
R.I.P The iPod as we new it.

$99 is not that impressive of a price for what you get.... I mean i can stream netflix and crap from my computer with my ps3 and my xbox.. with my ps3 i still have a hd and i still have a BD player?!

So again 99 isnt that impressive for a hub..

Eh I'm underwhelmed (besides iTunes which looks pretty good).

I'm only underwhelmed because I don't use iPods. I'm sure they're great if you use MP3 players.

i didn't want any of this stuff, but am so happy they added cams and retina to the touch! i want a 2nd gen ipad, so hopefully it will get the same upgrades!!

LOL at people going crazy over $99 pricing. This thing has even less functionality than almost every media player in the market. Hell, the WD TV has been $99 for, what, 2 years and it even does 1080p.
