Iron Man 2 demo looked pretty good. It loaded and streamed without any problem. The only concern with renting streaming content is if your router has an issue you can't watch the show or movie. There is nothing worse than watching streaming content and halfway through it cuts out.

Best iPod event ever!

Can't believe I'm getting EXACTLY what I wanted from the iPod Touch! :D:D:D

This is the worst apple event I've ever seen. Everything was downgraded and the clickwheel died. The only thing good about it is the iPod touch. But even the iPod touch had its problem....the prices.

The whole still photo thing is a software issue. It is not like you will need to buy a new one next year to get it. Chill out.

Is this actually true? (I'm actually curious not trying to disagree or anything)
It just seems to me like if it was capable of still photos they would have advertised that rather than very clearly stating camera for HD video recording. Which makes me think still photos are not an option. I remember seeing when the older generation nano came out with just video it was because this was a thinner part than the camera needed for still photos and the new ipod touch is pretty thin...

Anyway hope you are right but until I see proof I won't be buying a touch. Not having still photos is basically the same as not having a camera. I can't see myself needing to capture video very often.:(

Ah there we go, "My Movies" is under the computer tab. I suppose good to have multiple computers hooked up you could play the movies off them. Little awkward though.

Apple still seems to be oblivious to the fact their competition is red box, not super high prices cable/satellite VoD. $1.50 for Blu-Ray or $5 for iTunes. Apple us no reason whatsoever to switch from physical media.

Redbox is not the competition. Netflix is. Netflix has proven that streaming works. I'm frankly surprised Netflix is on the device. that is really killer :)

Standing in line for 10 minutes to return a redbox movie sucks

Considering getting one after writing off this product idea years ago.

REALLY needs to get to the meat of this where he shows integration with all of the other iDevices...

Anybody see how long you can keep the media for? I think I am seeing 30-day rentals...

:D

Which looks like it switches to 48hrs once you start watching it. :(

Yeah, and if I have a TV with Component cables, but no HDMI this device is useless. :(

I'm in the same camp. I have an older 50 inch Toshiba 1080i set that doesn't have HDMI. It sucks but apple's not the first to kill off component and they probably had to due to the analog loop hole. :(

New AppleTV = score!

I'm sure you can still purchase movies on iTunes and stream to your AppleTV. Who runs an appletv independent of a shared iTunes library, anyway?

I'll be upgrading all 3 AppleTVs in the house to this.

Is not new ATV just a subset of the old one? Why would you want the dumber device?
