All in all. I'd say even with the few hickups the stream worked out very well.

yeah i was streaming it well on my iPhone after i got out of work had to go to the store and pick up a few things but it was great on 3G.

back to school offer ends Sept 7th. Does that mean that new ipod touches are part of the promo?

Am I the only one who digs the new iTunes icon?? It looks neat, I like this blue color, reminds me of Quicktime icon (never was much of a fan of the original iTunes icon, which I replaced pretty soon after switching to Mac).

What pisses me off tho is why is it still not 64-bit??? I expected Apple to make it so with iTunes 10 and not add some crap social networking service to it.. performance improvements would be a lot more welcome.

What about iLife 11??

old logo was a musical note over a compact disc. new logo is their way of saying goodbye physical media, including blue-ray

So…in Mac Os X 10.7 the Close/max/min buttons are going to be like the new ones on itunes 10?

NOPE, they've simply merged the normal iTunes window with the older minimized-version iTunes traffic buttons for more real estate...

Well yeah, I guess that works if you're using an older, pre-HDMI receiver.

Not true. I have an HDMI Receiver that does Audio Pass though. It's one of the older HDMI ones where it doesn't take the audio stream via HDMI. I have to use Coax or Optical for all of my digital needs, even though it has HDMI. Video works fine though lol.

I do hope it's only iTunes that will have this "stoplight" type of button arrangement.

Seriously, Ipod Shuffle, is it me or they took a few steps back to an old design?

That's because the second generation iPod shuffle was the best.

Seriously, the third generation was the weird one. No buttons on the player, complex multiple single-button click patterns to control it? That was so not Apple that I still can't believe it.

At last I have an upgrade path for my 1 GiB, 2nd generation iPod shuffle.

September 1st + "available next week" = 1 + 7 days = september 8th.

A lot of people had already guessed that it would only be available on the 8th because of that back to school promotion.

Is it just me that thinks the new nano would be a pain to use with one hand?

Apple TV needs:
1080p
Way to subscribe to shows, not rent each separately
More shows to rent from more networks

and then it would be worth it...

I'm guessing we'll see an app store model down the road for this. Buy the HBO app and you can stream everything HBO offers for ten bucks a month, in SD or HD. (the way Netflix is built-in).

AppleTV will never be anything but a small niche product unless it has everything in 1080p. People do NOT buy giant HDTVs to watch stuff in 720p.

I have 90% av all my content in 720p... looks superb on my 136" screen.

Wow, how little you know.

Right... if you use your own DVD/Blu-ray rips etc. you could easily rip to :apple:TV compatible formats. MKV is just a container... pirates like to use.

Because it's very small, and to keep a grip on it you'd need to use the other hand for touching the screen. Just look at how Steve was using it in the keynote.

Yep. it looks like a complete hassle to use. Who wants a touchscreen on a device that small?

I see the nano sales dropping off a ton

MKV is a popular container for Plex. I would prefer an AppleTV that could play everything Plex can, but it won't interface with EyeTV either so I'll just have to live with both deficiencies.

My main gripe is still the interface that stresses new content, not the stuff you already own.

Of course - I'm sure everyone's main gripe will be that that darn usb port is still there, but Apple doesn't want you to use it.
