Holy whining batman!

I might not ever come back to this ****** whiny ******** site (been here for years even though not many comments).

I think the ATV at $100 is great! I will certainly pick one up immediately. Ability to stream to it, connection with Flickr and Netflix... 99 cent rentals. Are you whiners serious? It's only _$100_....

Glad facetime made it into the iTouch... will help spread its use.

Ping... we'll just have to see over time. I'll probably use it to keep tabs on some of my favorite indie bands. I can't see people making "posts" there instead of Facebook...

Tiny nano... well... it's personally not all that interesting to me.... but it will be great for tweens / teens. For anyone that wants more... that's what the iTouch is for.

Some of you people are just plain crazy.

You will not be missed.

First try passing the HDMI through your receiver FIRST, then out to your tv.

If that doesn't work, we might be waiting on AVR manufacturers to release firmware updates to make it compatible.

Tick tock tick tock...

I can't think of a receiver that doesn't support video via HDMI to a TV, if it has an HDMI connection.

hdmi to your tv, then audio out to your receiver

It has an optical audio out on the back, too.

Really? A _day or two_ after the show airs? That's not been my experience with Hulu...

if you want to watch your tv shows so badly, how about watching them when they air?

you can send me the .99 cents you saved as a thank you

the biggest fail is still the iPod Nano they got rid of

Video
Camera
Bigger Screen

just to squeeze it in size (whats the point? the nano was tiny enough and if u really needed a micro device u could have got the shuffle) o_O

and the price ... 159 € for the 8 GB iPod Nano, this equals to about 200$

Agreed. It's something they took a way but didn't really say it. I bet you anything that people will get frustrated when they go into the store, pick the Nano up and hey, it doesn't do video anymore. On a side note, I think it's a good idea. That screen is a bit too small to watch video comfortably. And for the price, I think it was a good idea.

They moved the concept of video recording to the iPod Touch, which I think it should have started and stayed, but it was a good move. I'm kinda surprised that it doesn't have the 5MP the IP4 has though. That's kind of a bummer cuz I love the quality I have on my IP4. It's better than nothing though.

Micro USB?

It has an optical audio out on the back, too.

whatis_gallery_slide220100901.jpg

Anyone else just notice the microUSB port on the back? Wonder how long until a hack surfaces.

Ports and interfaces
HDMI2
Optical audio
10/100BASE-T Ethernet
Built-in IR receiver
Micro-USB (for service and support)

So…in Mac Os X 10.7 the Close/max/min buttons are going to be like the new ones on itunes 10?

download_hero20100901.jpg

I hope not.
maybe it will be a design option that becomes more standard depending on the app, but I like the current horizontal layout personally.

but i think dolby digital cannot pass through the tv, which is why you'd want an audio out

If you're using a receiver with HDMI, your connections should go through the receiver first before the TV.

And depending on your Receiver will prefer optical over HDMI [if it has one].

Well yeah, I guess that works if you're using an older, pre-HDMI receiver.

appletv great for OTA users

My family was sick of paying $100 per month to comcast, so we've been watching roughly about 10 channels over the air. I think the appletv is great for people like us. now we can hook this up and use our wifi and watch some more shows, maybe even take advantage of netflix

Wow only 100BASE T Ethernet,
Wouldn't it be better to have Gigabit ethernet for good streaming?
