Hmm..
I don't have a fone I haven't had one since I ditched cell service some 8 and a half years ago. I strictly use free wifi terminals everywhere I can to keep in touch, I still use pay fones, calling cards and borrow fones to make quick / urgent calls.
Anyways, it isn't that impressive to have a smart fone, it is handy from time to time but I admit it feels so great to walk out of my office / house / where ever and bump into people I know and asking them if they have time for a walk to catch up or go for lunch, you know? I loved it when I had a fone and trust me, I loved it so much I relied on it for everything. It got really out of control and not to mention the plans and rates were a big red sign to never look back, no competition and really poor service, no more, it is freedom for me.
This whole thing with security is really fascinating that people rely on a gadget for security, isn't that ironic? People are so paranoid and armed with so much "perceived security" for these people who are very insecure... The best security is not to have one of these devices at all or at least if you do, to always have it on you. I have seen people leave their fones on the counter at a bank, cafe, store, concert ticket booth etc, proving to me people can 'not' multi-task to save their lives, let alone their fones... I have seen people get their fones ripped right out of their hands walking through a busy crosswalk, people really want these fones.
These gadgets are making a lot of people happy, too happy, especially the cops, the FBI and all them out there who really want to know everything you do with your fones. You're attached to them at the hip kids.
People don't really get together any more, they gather together and use their phones together and thats that.
