This happens every time Apple has an announcement. And the people most vocal are the ones who don't like something, or are coming here to troll.

But I say if you don't like something, don't buy it. The simplist way to send a message to Apple is to keep your pocketbook shut. :)

I disagree they are here to troll. I just think people have an odd sense of reality when it comes to technology evolution these days.

Thats just it. Its NOT budget in terms of pricing. I can get an HTC One (32GB) or GS4 for cheaper than a 16GB 5C. I can also get a Lumia 920 for less than HALF the 5C and it comes with varying colours.

Budget iPhone. I never said Budget Smartphone :)

Yeah. Because exaggerating my claim makes my point invalid. Take off the rose tinted glasses and look. How is this a worthwhile upgrade after waiting a whole year

It's not a worthwile upgrade after waiting a whole year.
It is, however, a VERY worthwile upgrading after waiting 2 years, or the length of a contract.

Just like the iPhone5 wasn't a worthy upgrade to an iPhone 4S.

Shoving more megapixels on a tiny sensor does nothing but degrade image quality and increase graininess.

Are there really this many people out there that still haven't got the memo on megapixels??

No. Ewe are rong. More Megahertz means better picsture.s.

If entry level 5S has 32GB, what the price of 5C will be? free?

a lot of speculation was a $499 price off contract, or $49 on 2 year contract...instead, $99 and $549.

anyway, like i, and may others have said, big miss with no upgrades in storage...

I'm not saying it isn't worth the price, I know damn well that it is. My problem is that I don't have the money for it, need an iPhone for work, and don't want something plastic. The iPhone 5 would have fit the bill with a price drop, the 5S and 5C do not.

Then quit your whining and get an iPhone 5. Yeah, you won't be able to for long but stores will be clearing them out cheap for the next while.

I'm sticking with my 4S for another upgrade cycle.

It was a pretty underwhelming keynote. The substantial part (as opposed to the fluff music at the end) was at least 30 minutes shorter than usual.

Well I don't know what all the hoopla is about.

People have unrealistic expectations - especially for an "S" update.

You got the typical spec bumps and some new features. Also a whole new OS being released.

At this point - and for awhile - phones aren't going to be "innovative" in the same way or revolutionary. They are all (iOS, Android and Windows Mobile) going to be evolutionary.

And with all the tech news out there - you can pretty much see where things are headed in the next several years.

But go ahead. Feel free to complain how boring all of it is...
I'm looking more at the potential with the fingerprint tech and 64-bit. Apple didn't introduce that for no reason. And as far as the fingerprint tech not being able to do all kinds of stuff right off the bat...my guess is Apple wants to start slow, make sure the tech works and is useful to people and then continually add features to it. Apple has never been one to throw in the kitchen sink so they can litter up a spec sheet.

Don't really understand the level of disappointment. You knew it was an S model which means last year's shell with a few spec bumps. An S is never going to make your jaw drop. It's made for two types of customers, the gullible who must have the latest model or else they'll feel like lesser beings, and those stuck in an offset bi-annual upgrade cycle and skipped the original 5 because they had just got the 4S, but now the battery on that one is half dead and that bigger screen is kinda tempting.

The C in iPhone 5C means "cheaper for us to make so we can keep that fat profit margin."

64 bit doesn't excite me. It seems overkill on a phone. I could be wrong. But Nothing I do on a phone really warrant that kind of power. Maybe on a tablet.

And one can assume Apple isn't expecting most people to upgrade phones every year. I guess I don't have a lot of sympathy for people who own an iPhone 5 and are complaining that the 5S isn't good enough.

I know about the Atrix. Everyone knows about the Atrix. Oddly, no one actually owns an Atrix, nor did it bring fingerprint technology into the mindshare of the mass market.

You guys really need to stop worrying about who did it first and start focusing on who did it right.

lol you guys? alot of assumptions... point is Most people arent getting the 5s because it has fingerprint technology... They are getting it because its the new iphone, so it wont matter regardless

That's why I said I'm excited by the potential. I mean Apple isn't really known for spec whoring so there must be a reason for this. Maybe it will be better revealed when the new iPads come out.

what difference would the end user see and notice on an os like ios? or is it aimed more at developers??

I had an Atrix (I believe it's the only phone I've ever returned...) and I can tell you Motorola did everything wrong: from the services it integrated with to the physical implementation of the scanner. :)
