For those who missed the keynote, here's a recap.

Cook: "Hi. Mandatory 10 minute rant about iPhone sales figures. We've got something amazingly incredible to show you and we think you're gonna love it in an amazingly incredible way. First up, Apple TV. Here to tell you more about it is Jen Folse."
Folse: "Hi so we took all your TV stuff on your Apple TV and put it in an app and called it TV so now you can watch all your TV in TV on your Apple TV on your TV and your iPad."
Cook: "Thanks. Now, the Mac. Here to tell you more about it are three warts with Phil Schiller attached."
Warts: "Touchbar touchbar touchbar touchbar touchbar. Here to tell you more about the touchbar is the only funny and non-annoying one of us, Craig Federighi."
Federighi: "Hi! Warm-up joke, touchbar, touchbar, joke, touchbar, touchbar, touchbar, touchbar. Can we get Warts on stage and borrow the finger of that guy who's attached to them?"
*Warts fingers stuff*
Federighi: "Nice fingering."
Cook: "Touchbar, touchbar, touchbar, amazingly great incredible thanks bye".

You forgot Emojis...

Is that it...? *****! Where's the imac and mini updates? Unbelievable, ipod delay and no revised dates, no touch screen, a poxy touch bar instead and a presentation that was padded out with product demos (and by the way, a dj demo ought to be by someone younger!)

As an investor I just hope that the market reaction isn't as extreme as mine!

Cook, just go. For those in the UK, tell me Cook isn't the bast@@d twin of Paul O'Grady?

Nothing wrong with Windows 10, it's a great OS. Stop living in the past on the MS OS issue. ME/Vista is dead, windows 10, by far, the best MS OS ever and is very stable. I develop Windows and Web applications on it and not one hiccup.

"Win10 best MS OS ever"? I should hope so, but...
"very stable"? compared to Win'98 quite possibly, but not compared to OS-X.
My experience is clearly quite different from yours. I must be using it wrong.

No MagSafe, No 32GB ram standard or option , same 512GB in the base 15 config, same 2GB video ram in the std config, what a lame update of "pro" machines, and at that ridiculous prices !!!

My late 2013 RMBP will be with me more time, and then bye bye Apple.

The pricing is so embarrassing too, they should have shown financing options only to psychologically dupe people into rationalizing this overpriced heap of poo as a product as a service, opex way of thinking.

It's just $60/mo for 13" and $80/mo for 15"***

30 month plans,

They call it 2nd-gen butterfly, so it's not the same. Could you at least try it out once before you declare it to be garbage? Much appreciated.
Why can't they make an app to make your iphone or ipad a big touchbar to control, or put the touchbar below the keyboard? This just looks so uncomfortable and gimicky. The whole event looked like a paid ad for a chicken roaster.

I would've loved to see Apple exec's reactions during MSFT keynote yesterday. One company had an actual keynote, the other had an hour long ad.

I know Apple doesn't like to talk about things they're working on but if they have anything going on with their desktop line, now would have been the time to mention it. I'm not an iMac or Mac Pro user but if I was I'd be moving on at this point. They've given no indication that they're even going to continue on with that line.

I do use a 2013 MBP and I was looking for a reason to upgrade but I just don't think there's enough there for me. The touch whatever it is is cool but it's far from a must-have.

So sad that they didn't do a modest upgrade to the MacBook Air. It would not have taken much (IPS display, smaller bezel, force touch track pad, etc.), and they probably could have kept the $1,000 price point. Apple just doesn't understand how an entry level laptop drives future customer base....HS/College students for example. I have seen it first hand with my kids.

Hugely shortsighted on their part.

I stepped away for a few minutes. Wow, no MacBook Air update. I can see Apple just selling a 13 inch MacBook Pro and a 15 inch and that is all. 2 Macs only. This sucks.

why does it suck? They're already thinner than the Air, so that makes the the new Air. Unless you truly want a laptop the size of a tablet.

I'm interested in the inclusion of the Secure Enclave on the new laptops.
With full machine encryption, has Apple crated a laptop the government can't hack?

The reason it's not selling is because they haven't updated it. If they would update it, it would actually sell. The current version frankly sucks, especially for the price.

Seriously, can you think of a single Apple product that would still sell if they went three years without an update? If anything they're hoping that sales tank so they can make an excuse and kill off the product.

Perhaps if they updated it sales would increase.

Obviously it's out dated now, but at the time of release, it was top of the range. I haven't looked into the Mac Pro sales figures, but they couldn't have been that good because Apple clearly aren't interested in it anymore.

Long story short, if a product sells well enough, Apple will keep updating it.

What a Joke. Nice MacBooks but what are we suppose to get to replace our broken and aging desktops. No MacPros means we are out. We will be starting to switch our software to PC effective immediately. This means no more desktops, no more laptops, no more iPads, no more iPhones. Best of luck Tim. Liked you at first but you killed the Apple I've loved for over 32 years now.
AMEN! Steve cared about Pro users, Tim just forces this Suedo-Pro level equipment (iPad "PRO") at us and expects us to "adapt" our workflows to their shortcomings. Forget it! We've been more than patient on waiting for new work machines. I'd never thought Id say this but "Hey Microsoft.....Im Baaaacckkk!!"

So, I really need a new laptop. For those who have switched over to Microsoft, or have seen the Microsoft event yesterday, what would you recommend as MBP 15" replacement? Need it for intense design, and some after effects and video work.
Go to a third-party laptop seller.. browse a few PC magazines for recommendations.
In the UK, PC Specialist is popular and well regarded.
And spec up a machine with exactly what you want.. processor, storage, ram, etc,
I recently got a laptop with better specs than the just-unveiled MBPs.. and it cost a quarter of what they are going to be selling at. A QUARTER!!!. 75% less.
