I'm an Apple user since the early 90ties, and this one was so horribly disappointing. Thank god I am no notebook user, so I can use hackintoshes. I just checked the german Euro prices on the new MBPs and ... jesus holy moly.

Guacamole!

The main problem with MS notebooks (Surface Pro and Surface Book) is the Screen size. The Book is only 13.5" while the Pro is 12.3.
I was just pricing the difference between the Surface Book with performance base and the New 15" Macbook Pro. The Mackbook Pro is about $100 cheaper for the same configuration. The only question is what processor MS is using. They just say 6th Gen Intel Core i7. I can also configure the Mackbook Pro with High specs, if I want to. The Surface Book has less option on Configuration. I work with a guy that just turned in his Surface Book and got an iPad Pro because of screen size. If you going to use it more as a Tablet than Labtop check out the Surface Pro. The other thing he hated about the Surface Book was the short Battery life with the Screen detached.

That's a good point. It's not really a problem since I use an external monitor anyway, but when I'm on the go, that will make a difference. Thanks!

They’ve just driven off all the people who attempt to wade into the waters of getting a mac with an 800-1000 MacBook option, anyone remember that? Just to show people how incredible it was to use OSX and not restrict them trying it by price? And don't say 'use an iPad' because those aren't computers.

Its a little sad.
The 13" Air still there for those people

So because the feature is there means you would automatically have fingerprints all over it? Interesting logic... I didn't know choice now means force.

Sarcasm aside, you could just... you know, not touch the screen?

What? The person said they wanted the touch screen. If they used it, that's what would happen.

ALL usb-c on this new machine is an obvious cash grab,

looking at the side of my 12" rMB, it's clear that its only thin enough to support that port

on these 2016 redesigns, it seems there's more than ample room for non USB-c ports

Something which really ticked me off about this event: Tim going on and on about the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus and how wonderful it is, then showing the new software only available for the iPhone 7 Plus and showing photos....... There are people out here (like moi!) who are still WAITING to get their hands on an iPhone 7 Plus!!! I'd love nothing more than to be able to send in wonderful samples of the wonderful photos I've been able to take with my new iPhone 7 Plus.....when and if I finally ever actually get one. It just rubbed me the wrong way, the whole thing about that. This was a Mac event, they should not have even bothered talking about the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus at all.

Sad part is reviewer will love it and rave about it because it's apple and they **** gold when it comes to reviewers.... like I said before this key note even started Apple has lost all touch with what it means to be "pro" -land their price to performance ratio is a complete joke

Was thinking about a new 13" to replace my macbook pro.

Spec'd out

13" MBP (no touch bar) with i7 (6th Gen), 512Gb SSD, 16Gb RAM - £2079 (or £2399 if I want touch bar) + dongles/cables to buy extra

Dell XPS 13 with i7 (7th Gen), 512Gb SSD, 16Gb RAM - £1499

Both are same weight at about 1.3kg

Is the touch bar thing and macOS really worth nearly £1k extra. Hmm....

After watching this event, i am happy that i made a hard decision to move over to PC for my creative productivity (digital painting / image manipulation). My new PC kicks ass, a lot of power, upgradable when ever I want. Only not running OSX but Windows 10. I have to say, the OS was a worry for me, but it runs just fine and i adept in just a few days.

7Plus supply has been exceptionally horrendous

/hugs his MB 128GB 7+ a little tighter

I think I am with you, I love all my other apple products but this may be my last iMac unless they do something amazing with it. If i get another desktop I will just custom build a PC for games i guess and just use all my other apple stuff for the day to day stuff

My 2010 15" MB Pro is really on its last legs, I have a line of dead pixels down the screen now, but it does still work. However I won't buy another Apple product, before you could buy the lower memory one and add to it, but not offering 32GB ram in 2016 is laughable. Six years on and I can only double the memory my computer has.
They really are milking for every penny they can get, I think they are getting more and more arrogant. I'll stick to iOS devices now, but for computers I won't buy Apple again, they offer poor value.
