Very disappointed. I was hoping for an update to the MBA and instead we get another MBP? No thanks. After being a loyal customer for many years they have just lost me.

Ouch at those prices, and for only 8 GB RAM. I was actually considering upgrading my late 2013 rMBP if they were priced the same as the previous ones. Unlikely to happen now.

I'm with you there. I have a late 2013 15" base model (256/8) and wanted to upgrade to double RAM and the SSD. Would set me back just under $2900 when you add in tax and two of the Thunderbolt 2 to 3 dongles.

Going to have to pass on it this go around.

What a joke. I am a professional filmmaker and would NEVER edit on a laptop (also Final cut is FAR from pro). I use my MacBook Air on location and as a knock around machine on journeys then bring material back to my Desktop. Going to seriously look into making a change as my iMac (first and last all in one) is about to die.

I don't know, their example of using it in a studio with dual monitors and the RAID drive, along with external transport controllers looked intriguing.

I'm at a loss to explain what i just saw. did they really just call in the media for a special announcement just to announce the touch bar and the tv app? seriously? did they even watch microsoft's announcement the other day?

microsoft went to town studying what Steve Jobs did in the past and Apple has forgotten.

just a monumentally underwhelming announcement.

i'm a huge apple fan but this is ridiculous. i'm so pissed right now

I understand entirely. At this very moment, the suits at MSFT must be absolutely laughing their butts off.

Should have been $500-$600 cheaper. I would be all over a 13" if it started at $999.... $1499... I'll wait. Bummer.
I think it would have been fair to have the prices stay the same. I think it was $1300 for the base retina display, and $1100 for the non-retina.

So $1100 for the base MBP, $1300 for the base Touchbar MBP.

Oh. What a complete let down...AGAIN.
So the bar is the best innovation these guys can come up with? With all of their resources that's it?
As for..... lets call it....TV!!!! Are you f*****g kidding me?
For the first time since I bought my first Apple over 30 years ago I will be seriously considering a MS product for my next desktop computer.
Sad day.

Wow, I AM PISSED!!!! Worst Apple media event I've seen to date.

NO updates for the iMac
NO updates for the Mac Mini
NO updates for the Mac Pro
Practically just made the Macbook Air useless...

I seriously don't know what to say, I love MacOS and despise of Windows but seriously Apple?! Are you not listening to anything we say?

I'm going to have to try out this next generation keyboard. It had better be significantly better than that thing they stuck in the 12 inch Macbook.

No Imacs? No Mac Pro??????? Seriously????
They are simply showing us pro users that they expect us to use laptops as our core work machines. Granted they are nice and all, but their not a good choice for everyday workhorse machines. If they truly cared about the desktop macs they would have made a touch bar enabled keyboard to bring that experience to the desktop users, or they would have at least spec bumped the mac pro which they haven't touched in 3 YEARS! If all of this hasn't convinced us pro level users that the desktop macs are simply apple's bastard child, then the fact that they touted the new LG branded display as desktop/laptop combination surely will.

And as for the Trackpad???? WTF????? Do Apple engineers have excessively large hands or something? It seems daft to me but I guess it makes sense to someone?

Oh and Microsofts new Surface Book comes with an i7 and dedicated GPU, the new 13" MacBook Pro does not have either as standard..

Current base model 15", 16.000DKR
New base model 15", 21.100DKR

My 15" 2011 is going to stay until it dies. Hope no one buys them. Waiting for kaby Lake and lowered prices, here I come.

Sad, was hoping to see a 32 GB option (RAM). like the touch bar, but I barely use the keyboard on the 15" pro I have now, so whats the use of this? Now if they had released an updated apple keyboard with that touch bar it would make sense (enjoy the feature on the road and in office)...

Either they have reached the end... or they are saving everything for next year, in their new digs (is it next year they move?) new iphone etc... Cause if that ain't it I don't get what they are doing anymore.

So, I really need a new laptop. For those who have switched over to Microsoft, or have seen the Microsoft event yesterday, what would you recommend as MBP 15" replacement? Need it for intense design, and some after effects and video work.
