Little disappointed at the lack of love for the iMac, fingers crossed they just release something (aka Mac Pro) to the website?

Where to start?

  1. It costs money.
  2. Apple is not giving one away to every person on earth with lifetime cell service.
  3. It doesn't resurrect Steve Jobs.
  4. It doesn't make intellectually-challenged people more intelligent.
  5. It doesn't move people out of parents' basements.
  6. Pres. Obama still doesn't know how to use one.
  7. If a tank drives over it, it breaks.
  8. It doesn't cure cancer.

Clearly, it is a failure on many levels.

Perfect summary. I love it. Doesn't raise your kids for you, either :D

Think I read that's another event.

This was on the live feed from AnandTech:
"11:51AM PDT - Intel thankfully didn't schedule too much this morning, the big stuff comes later this afternoon"

Hard to know if this is stream of consciousness or something Cook actually said; and what it might mean. Anyone?

Nice they will be including the USB power cable looks like. I thought the new lightning cable only works with Thunderbolt.

Geez I guess I am one of the few people on here that is excited about the new iPhone. Oh well shorter wait times to order on Friday is perfectly cool with me.

this sux ! apple had 3.5"

now its 4"

well samsungs has 4.5"

why mine is smaller

cuz it perfectly fits my hand !

com on its STILL tiny !!! :p

Have fun with that POS. returned mine in 20 hours. Light leakage, AWFUL battery life not to mention You pay the same for all apps they just aren't regulated so apps like espn don't fit the screen and have messed up font sizes. But have fun!

Did I mention it takes 6 hours to charge ;)

I can't take anything you post seriously because your user name is "Chadillacc" and the 6 hours to charge is false

Point-by-point on the most common of today's complaints...

It's not new enough.
Do you find something lacking in the new and upgraded features of the 5? Or were you just expecting an ultra-extreme-radical new form factor? What's wrong with the basic layout and appearance of the iPhone? Now, I don't plan on getting a 5 in the near future, but that's not because it's not "new enough." I'm sticking with my 4 because it meets my current needs and then some. When I outgrow the 4 or when it breaks, it's time for a new phone. (And, of course, I'm 100% open to what Samsung, HTC, etc. can offer me.)

I dunno, I'm just underwhelmed. I'm just feeling "meh."
Again, what did you want that you didn't get? A 100% edge-to-edge screen? Holographic projection á la "Help me, Obi-Wan Kenobi"? A nanotech plutonium reactor so you never have to worry about charging? Android? ;)

There's too much focus on games in this presentation.
Don't like games? Don't play them. I don't follow the stock market, but it doesn't bother me when the Stocks app is discussed. For better or worse, gaming is one of the most common uses of the iPhone and the iPod touch. You may not be much of a gamer, but plenty of iDevice owners greedily snap up the numerous games offered in the App Store. Let's say the iPhone's usefulness as a phone, music player, PDA, etc. were somehow compromised by some sort of effort to make the device more attractive to gamers or "younger users," or the App Store tried to position itself as more of a "game store" than anything else. Such things would be a problem, and a big one. I don't see that happening today, however.

The presentation wasn't exciting enough.
Tim ≠ Steve.

I already knew about all this stuff!
Isn't MacRumors great?

No worries. I am too. Don't take this forum as a gauge of public interest at all. I am quite sure this will be the best selling iPhone of all time.

I guess there is no iPad mini.
I didn't want one but it sucks for the people that did.

I wanted a phone that was wider, with the same resolution.

Once you get older you will understand why.

If phones could only adjust for vision, reading glasses would be a thing of the past. Bigger phones too.

I'm 36 and am starting to understand. That said, I think the current design is pretty good.

This made me lol.

How will you EVER survive with only a few thousand songs to listen to?!?!?!

Hey look, it's another one of those new Apple fans, with another insightful comment about how other people with some appreciation and technical know-how of music and audio want to use their equipment.

Ooh, but the new iPod is really shiny. You must be thrilled.

So I still cant figure out why I would buy an iPhone 5 instead of a 4 or 4S. Hell I am still sticking to my 3GS. Siri can suck it. If I get the chance to get the iPhone 5 on a good deal ok but I am more open now to Android phones since they tend to be less expensive.

Are you for real?
Image

Looks pretty "rounded" to me.

Look at the corners looking at the front face of the device. There are four corners. Each and edge. the new Nano has rounded corners like the black plate on the lumia. I was not talking about the sides of the nano.

Just got off the phone with Tim, was sharing your concerns with him. He says "tell them, it's not for you."

Just thought you should know.

What update can Apple offer for the Classic except the 220GB and 200GB Toshiba HDDs? And considering Toshiba brought those out in early 2011, that Apple didn't offer them at the 2011 iPod event is a strong hint they would not offer them at the 2012 event.

Sure they can. Add Bluetooth maybe? Just in case someone likes to use wireless headphones... But a bigger drive would be enough update for me, though - I just can't squeeze my whole lossless library onto 160GB hard drive.

Plus, when side by side with the new hideous (I will get used to it eventually) iPod lineup, the Classic looks like a dinosaur. Apple, please update the iPod classic, but keep the ClickWheel for Christ sakes! Jony Ive will know how to do it right.

I understood when people were excited about the very first iPhone - it was something truly special and changed the game.

But with the iPhone 5, Apple just tries to catch up with the latest high-end Android gadgets - and fails. Apple's new phone has no features or characteristics that competitors have not already had for more than a year. The introduced features might be new and exciting for Apple customers, but it is all old news in Android land and will hardly attract owners of current Android flagships to switch. Based upon what they've shown today, technologically Apple just fell another year behind the pack.
