Wow, this sucks:

"CDMA available only if iPhone 4S is sold and activated for use on a CDMA network."

I was hoping this would finally mean being able to buy an unlocked iPhone and use it on any provider you want in the US. Apparently not. :(

It's funny how Apple never does anything 100% right, isn't it? They get it 95% but fail on the last 5%. :p

this was the lamest iphone event in history, the iPhone 4S is a joke.
siri is just useful when you are driving a car, just kiddies are exited about the 7x faster graphics, 95% don't give a *** about the graphics, and a bit more pixels for the camera, hahaha I still can't believe how lame the upgrade is. I think apple never disappointed the people that hard...
 
The stock is now down over $14 a share. Usually it goes up in price leading up to the announcement and then down after the announcement. This time it went down before and after the announcement.

Wow, what a disappointment! I guess I can look forward to ios 5 and my iphone 4 for another year!

Um, no it's not.

Compare the 3.5" screen of the iPhone 4 with the 3.5" screen of the previous three years of iPhones. Gigantic difference.

The 4s may have the same display as the 4, but it's definitely not the same 'little' screen they've had for YEARS.

I'm still a huge fan of the iPhone 4 design and form factor. On top of that, double the storage (64GB)? Significant improvements on the camera (too many to list)? Massive speed lift on the CPU and the GPU(s!)? Yes please!
 
gosh this iPhone 4S is a solid phone.

The design is great and now we have a much better hardware and specs.
Apple has been updating their look every two generations, expecting a total new phone was just based on wishful thinking and baseless rumors.

I for one will be ordering one ASAP since I can't take my iPhone 3G anymore.

Actually, Steve left as CEO probably because he is dying and didn't want to spend the little bit of life he may have left listening to whining like what's going on here.

By the way, this iPhone 4S plan didn't materialize in two months. So obviously, the 4S is where Steve led the company to, under his watch.

Not even that, I bet Steve already planned the next two iPhones before he left. Companies like Apple make plans for several years ahead.
 
Apple's entire site and store are down.

Guess that means this thing wasn't a bomb after all.
 
iPhone 4S its ok, too bad Siri is not available for iPhone 4 or iPod Touch.

Too bad iPod touch is the same, no A5, same 1MP crap camera.

Extra bad, no live video.
 
news and rumors you (don't) care about

I hope there's a lot of red faces at MacRumors. Going on for months about a iPhone 5. New form factors, cases, entries in inventories etc etc etc. They just never got the simple truth that the iPhone 4S is the iPhone 5.

MacRumors must have caused so much disappointment out there today. Is the professional Apple rumor business really worth it, I wonder?
