I think you should look for the nearest furry wall and stroke it !!!! have you seen the new lineup of Androids ??? Prime ,Vigor and a sick new Motorola. Do some research first.:rolleyes:

I don't see the HTC making laptops and desktops
Yes iPhone is there biggest seller but it is not their only one so stop whining and go buy an HTC

Ummm... you should probably take note with what is happening in Greece right now. Compare AAPL and GOOG today... not a whole lot of difference.
 
I'm happy for several reasons

  1. My wife is happy w/ the announcement so now she'll stop asking me about the new iPhone. She's ready to order Fri morning.
  2. I get one more iPhone (if I want it) before they switch to 4G and I lose my unlimited data plan with AT&T.
  3. I laugh just thinking about all the people on here saying "THEY WILL NOT CALL IT IPHONE 4S!!!!!!!".

Not sure why everyone wants a larger screen so bad. The iPhone barely fits in my pockets now.
 
Actually I just watched the keynote VID and I am feeling better about it all, I think maybe Apple have made the right choice for them, Maybe not for those of us that was hoping for an iPhone5 but for them as a business it does make sense, they will bring out the next great design late next year, until then the iPhone4S will probably break sales records, and Apple will be able to keep up with demand.

The iPhone4S even tho it looks like the iPhone4 is a very different beast and will be an amazing device, I look forward to getting it.

They will in all likelihood revert back to the July release for what I'd imagine would be the iPhone 5.

Absolutely inconceivable and laughable for the 4S to last 18 months in this continuously evolving and expanding Market.
 
£499 starting price in the UK. Thats my decision made for me then...no iPhone for me this year.

That's not how major sites are updated. They are updated by switching from a server that is running the old site to a server that is running the new site. It should literally take a couple seconds, if that. This looks like someone failed to set the permissions on the new server correctly, so visitors to their site are getting "Access Denied" messages. Thus, bad form.

I'm not saying that this is a terrible thing, the end of the world, or anything, just that someone goofed. Apple is usually better about the details than that...
 
Im gonna stop reading on account of all the whining .

This was the smart move by apple and the camera and processor update alone are going to make it sell.

Id like one but I'm sticking with the 4 for a while longer .

Screen size is a dumb bitching point .
 
EPIC FAIL.

Fastest iPhone yet with all new interior, so why not create an all new exterior? I would have waited for a new design rather than an assistant (Siri) being introduced that half the people will have no clue what it is or what it will do. Def a disappointing day for Apple. I am sure Cook is not going to look good in front of the board in a few weeks.
 
TO ALL AT&T CURRENT COSTUMERS PLANNING TO GET THIS PHONE: Just remember, if you upgrade, they will lock you on a 24 month contract, meaning that if Apple indeed release the iPhone 5 sometime next Jan or Feb, you wont be able to get until Oct. 2013! as Att does not grant an 18 month period before an upgrade.

I would think twice before getting it folks. 3 more months and we might get what we all expected from Apple.

Indeed. I remember Apple's site being inaccessible after product announcements, but never a permission error. Someone messed up :)
 
What is all this whining about screen size? This is your phone, not a primary computer! A lot of those massive Droids look like they won't even fit in your pocket!

Seriously, the current iPhone size is perfect. If you want a big screen, buy a tablet. Don't whine.

What is this, the Dell laptop market or the Android handset market where you have to slap your product in a new cheesy chunk of plastic every 6 months to attempt to convince people to buy your junk?

It's not arrogance to stick with a great design. It's intelligence.

The Mac Pro is still the best looking tower computer on the market, and it's been using the same design for years. The iPhone 4/4S is the best looking, most elegant piece of hardware on the smartphone market.

Don't fix it if it ain't broke.

Maybe cheap plastic Android phones that are refreshed every six months are more your cup of tea? If so, enjoy!
 
For 2-3 days, here on MacRumors, I've been enjoying people predicting wild theories about today's event. Most likely, Tim Cook will do a one more thing where he would announce iPhone 5 and the presence of Jobs on stage. Hope is a wonderful thing but makes people stupid. I am pretty sure that there are still people here thinking that maybe Apple will release the "Redesigned iPhone 5" in early 2012 and I can't blame them. It's their hope.
 
Im not really disappointed this is what I expected. 64gb was a surprise as well. If you think about it its an entirely new phone people are just bummed because it doesn't LOOK different. The retina display is great and I dont see the harm in sticking with it for another year. Besides the screen and look what did apple leave out? Nothing. Faster Processor, more ram, 8mp 1080p video, better graphics, faster wireless, 64gb capacity. literally EVERYTHING was upgraded besides the LOOK and the SCREEN.

Also now that they made this thing a world phone I guarantee there will be plenty to go around on the 14th since they are are only making black and white versions they can reallly pump them out. I will be ordering a 64gb version on the 7th.
