"This is what Apple is all about" ???

Really?

In 1984, it was "The Computer For the Rest of Us."

Now, thirty years later, it's apparently "The Gold Watch for the 1% of us."

Wow, that really went over your head. Not that you missed the entry level price point.

Apple watch refurbished now avaiable at Apple store!

The 2015 18K gold iWatch is now available refurbished in the Apple store for just $9,949! Only one available (Was owned by Donald Trump, he was forced to sell in his latest Bankruptcy) so its "lightly used"

Hurry!

$550-$1050 for the SS Watch? This sounds crazy to me. And the bands, are they going to be sold separately? What are the prices for them?

I've a feeling Tim Cook will get the boot off the CEO chair. Eventually. Smart guy but not the right one to get Apple on track.

The 10k price is a huge mistake. Especially for a watch that doesn't upgrade. Or any other model.

Yeh, he's running Apple into the ground.

The level of drama on here is hilarious.

Very muted atmosphere.

It's a tech based audience being confronted with a keynote focused on a lifestyle/fashion item.

That $10,000 watch is going to sell like crazy and the best thing is they will be able to sell an upgraded version to the same person again next year.

Yeah, maybe to those "Rich kids of instagram" and people with no taste at all. Anybody whos in a market for 10k$ watch will be looking at much better watches and more premium names.

what on earth are you talking about? $349 sounds great to me. the ultra high-end isn't my market, so why should i be concerned about that? i own a cheap Mini, not the most souped-up MacPro at thousands of dollars....again, how does the availability of the high-end alter my value at the low-end? it doesn't.

The Macbook looks impressive, albeit the specs do not, and neither does the price. $1300? Seems steep to me.

But the engineering, the look of the product, beautiful. Apple needs to turn their focus away from all this fashion nonsense and get back to making really strong performance computers. I have had enough of the gold iPhones and Macbooks.

1000+ for a stainelss steel... do they even know what kind of a great watch you can get for that amount of money?

I'm not saying it will fly off the shelves, but my limited understanding of the watch market seems to indicate that most watches in the $1-2k range have pretty much the same internals as a $50 watch with a fancy case and band. In that company, the Apple watch looks like a good deal.

The Apple Watch is not useful enough to warrant those prices. It's not something I can see myself buying any time soon. Apple should have stayed out of this market, in my opinion.

If even Apple can't make the smart watch useful enough, I dread to think what competitors ones must be like. I imagine the Samsung smart watch is a train wreck but clearly far cheaper. Right now, I feel like the Pebble is about as far as smart watches should have gone. They'll take advantage of this and make sure their products continue to be affordable and desirable.

but Apple is gonna make a killing. Even if they don't hit the ball out of the park, even a first base hit will gobble up the competition.

was any mention made to headphones for the Apple watch? Was crossing my fingers they were going to release a bluetooth set.

People get mugged for their phones all the time....can you imagine the gold iWatch?

Pretty sure that anyone that can afford a $10K Apple Watch probably has a 200K body guard, 100K chauffeur, and 200K supercar. If they are walking a few blocks it's not w/o muscle.

I doubt the gold Apple Watch has any resale value, except for the band and solid gold (which any gold watch has anyway).

The Apple Watch probably won't turn authenticate when put on another person.

oh I agree with you....but that won't stop thieves....their obviously not too bright to begin with. There is a market for stolen phones......there will be for this too.

I'm sure the Watch will sell well enough amongst Fashionistas and Tech nerds, but it's hard to see Apple turning it into a mass-market product at these prices.
$350 is not bad. Cheaper than some Garmin sport watches and they sell.
