I hope there will be an option to turn off that force-feedback track pad in order to extend the battery life in the new Macbook Air. The new MB Air 2 has 35% more battery capacity, combined with a slow, 5 watt Core M chip but loses 2 hours of battery life due to the Retina display.
I wish Apple would have gone the opposite direction, and kept the clickable trackpad with no force-feedback and not made the new Macbook Air so slim so that they could retain a larger battery. I thought Apple was going to increase the new Air's battery life, or at least retain the 12-hour battery life. I'm shocked that we are going to lose 2 hours of battery life instead.
