So wait, if the iPad Air has the A7/M7/Retina and the mini has the A7/M7/Retina, are the only distinguishing factors size/weight/battery life? The new minis seem like the way to go (I know I know, they are now $399), that's a HUGE boost.
Its pretty simple really, invest in the stock before an event thinking that the company will blow away people, when the investors think that they didnt or they hear it from some analyst on wall street, then they sell , and then buy back when Apple breaks sales records, thats how it works.
Real world experience with MIMO tech tells me you do not get the range and speed increases their propaganda was pushing. I have had mimo tech in my laptop cards and routers starting probably 8 years ago.
Why not go straight to AC for those of us who have the latest and greatest routers to take full advantage?
As far as processing speed...... I guess it's ok with you for their flagship tablet to share cpu with mobile phones etc. I was just hoping for bump.
People did figure that out with macs... Why do you think apple was about to go down before they introduced the ipod/iphone....
Have you ever thought maybe they're selling some of their stock to buy Apple products?

Based on what little they've told us, it's using the same hardware as the new iPad Air.

All I want is a new Thunderbolt display. ARGH!!! Hopefully they will be silently updated when the new Pro ships in December.
I actually heard (before hand) they had to increase size and weight so it makes sense they wouldn't say the new specs. Even if they would have kept the same size and weight they would have said something like we added all this and even kept the same small size and weight etc..
Yet their mac sales have been constantly growing until last year. Apparently more people were willing to pay the premium price.
And no, Apple did not go down because they made more expensive products. They went down because they started falling behind and making bad expensive products.
Yeah except if I want more than 500 GB I need to pay $500 for a hard drive. Or if I want a 15" macbook pro I need to be carrying around a 3k piece of hardware. The beauty of the non-rMBP is that I can just get one with a good processor and put a $125 hybrid TB drive in it, I can install more ram if I need it. I'm not carrying around a self contained $3k product. If i want to bring my computer out to a gig and someone spills liquid on it, I'm scrwed. I need another 3k.

Even tried to make it look good by saying gen1 mini it's $329 but we're selling it for $299. A lot of places were selling it for $299. Heck I was in Walmart before school started and the made an announcement they were going to sell it for $250 for that day only.
It got a good spec jump with the mini gen2 but not $400 good.
$400 for a iPad2?!? Who in their right mind would buy that at that price?
Now I'll probably wind up going with a Nexus or some other tablet I can't justify the cost of the mini retina. Maybe a gen1 mini refurb if it gets to $250 or so

Aside from MacPRo which 99% of the public do not need...WHAT has Apple developed that is earth shattering???

Apples stock does this after every single product announcement. Yet people always seem so surprised by it.
I just think people read into Apples stock price entirely too much. Their is a lot more to a stock price than just "how well" the company is doing in the other areas.
I am underwhelmed by the ipad launch. Seriously why keep ipad 2 at 399 when u have an ipad mini 2 at 399. Also why keep iPod touch at 299 when you have ipad mini at 299. They could atleast have bumped the cpu to a6. I think the best bet right now would be the nexus 7 but if you want an iPad i think the refurb iPad mini from apple store would be at an amazing price ~249.

OMG, Apple is so screwed after this update. iPad Air? Mavericks free?! Are they that desperate to get people to use their OS?
Apple with Tim Cook is far worse than Apple with Sculey. Tim Cook is Apple's Steve Ballmer. Cook is riding on the coattails of the one who came before him.
iOS 7 is a weak update, filled with comical gimmicks that make people sick. It was literally put together in Microsoft Word.
And they're the aesthetics experts, we should trust their good sense of fashion. Monochromatic button downs with the tails out is the new ****ing style.
