this can't be true. Not even Cook is that stupid.

I think the Apple Watch Sport Edition will have GPS.

They really didn't talk about it. They just totally glossed over all the details; I think we can safely assume the worst about pricing and battery life for the other models. The sport edition might have a lower res display, GPS, and awful battery life, at least thats my guess.

For those of you saying the AppleWatch will flop, take a screen grab and come back your statement in 2015 and see how wrong you are. This thing is going to sell like crazy...

I hope for apple's sake. I just don't see it though.

A decade long collaboration with U2...except for that period when they got pissy about something and shilled for Blackberry.

In the past, the musical guests at these events made some sense, because Apple was debuting new iPods and iTunes features.

What's the point of this? The iPod didn't even warrant a mention in Tim's list of tentpole products for the company.

But..oh yeah, we have a music app, and we like music!

They're coming out with a U2 Special Edition iPod Classic.

FYI Apple have released dud products before. I'm not saying this will be, I'm just saying having absolute faith in Apple is a hindrance.

No GPS on the watch means no buy for me. I'm a runner and I absolutely hate running with an iphone. Thus, distance tracking wouldn't work which basically defeats the purpose. I'll wait for another iteration -- first adopters of new apple devices always get screwed anyways.

Uh, no... not true. Leaks, yes, but every iPhone launch (most) people were pretty excited about the new design. This time.. it's different. The front is nice, but those thick bands. I guess you have to see it in person to give a final judgement.

And the watch, I don't wanna comment that thing.

BS. It's this way after every launch. Go back to the 2008 unibody MacBook event. Pages and pages of complaining and lots of hate for the black chicklet keyboard.

Everyone complaining about the price of the watch... you are hilarious.

1. It's not a watch. It's a computer. A highly-engineered one at that.
2. $350 is VERY affordable in the overall watch market. Hell, I have several watches in the $500-$3000 range.
3. People pay that much for iPads every day. Actually, at $350 it's one of the least expensive Apple products there is.
4. iPhones off contract are around $700.

Just because you've never paid more than $20 for a Timex in your life... that doesn't translate to this.

It's a temporary structure designed to emulate a small shopping mall of boutiques.

This is why the fashion industry is there. For the fashionable wearables that can be purchased via NFC.

And judging by the twitter feeds Marie Claire the company is there as a special guest.

Thank goodness U2 isn't in the white box!

WHAT is in the WHITE BOX?!?!?

What I said it was going to be.

So there is NO GPS on the watch? I have to wear this watch AND carry my iPhone when I go running? god damn...

Yeah, I can't believe it myself. Can't really even consider it for workouts unless it can stand alone GPS. Very lame. Maybe the 2nd or 3rd generation?

I think this is the Apple keynote with the highest anticipation, matched with the highest disappointment, so far.

Samsung's Note 4 Edge is the best new product I've seen thus far this month.

This Apple event is a self-absorbed ego festival. Everything about Apple lately has a bizarre cult-like feel to it, with very little substance.

Especially those bigger iPhones! Shame the iWatch won't support the smaller 4S. I don't take my iPhone when I go running, just a Fuelband.

This ApplePay stuff is awesome.

But, minus Touch ID, it's almost exactly the same as the Google Wallet implementation. I had higher hopes for this keynote. I saw nothing really compelling. Just a lot of industry catch up products.

I did get a giggle out of this thread earlier when the stream was, and I am putting this lightly, having technical difficulties. Quite unApple-like.
