Am I the only left-handed person here who noticed that the :apple:Watch seems to come in a right-handed version?

Everyone was wearing it on their left wrist. Lefties wear watches on the right wrist hence the crown is awkwardly placed. Grrrr.

A great product is debatable. People are claiming it won't sell well and I disagree. I'm also not that interested in this watch. I want more health sensors than this, maybe in rev2 or rev3 they'll happen eventually.

Agree all around. GPS too. I'm fine with it needing the phone linkup for data and such, but you need to be able to run with this thing on and not have to worry about lugging your phone along for the ride.

Nothing here to make me switch to Apple ecosystem. If the watch was more compelling I may have been interested. Will definitely be getting the Samsung Gear S now based on separate sim and styling.

wifi?
sim?
gps?
can be used without a phone 1 foot away?

Nope.

Bottom line is that they priced it where they needed to price it, and it's a "luxury" accessory. Buy it or don't. The technology and R&D in that device is substantial. It's not overpriced. It's just more than many here say they are willing to pay.

Uh... Surprised that the Apple Watch will only work with iphones. People carry their 4G ipads around as well ;)

Maybe if people stop expecting unrealistic things from this company ever year, they'll be able to do that. If I was Tim Cook I wouldn't release this watch for another year or two until there's more tech you can put inside. If the tech is not ready, wait. iPhone was ready when it launched. I see this watch as a beta.

I didn't expect anything unrealistic - just a phone with the specs of S5/Z3/M8 but running iOS. Instead Apple delivered the Nokia 630

It's already in your cloud library, I just downloaded it. Just restart iTunes and let it update, and make sure that cloud purchases are set to be visible in preferences.

Is apple going to force U2 down my ******??? WHAT THE ACTUAL ****, NO JUST NO!

Where is the new iPad range? No iPad Air 2?

So they only covered the iPhone and Apple Watch?

What a waste of time!!

I'm in. 4.7" iphone6 64gig and Apple Watch Sport with a black and a green band! And hey, waiting until early 2015 for the watch just means extra time to save up the cash. Sweet.

Other than not getting a new MacBook Air announcement (I didn't honestly think there would be, but I hoped), I thought it was a great Apple event. (The first 45min were hell, though. Too many streaming glitches and page refreshes required.)

WHAT AN AMAZING EVENT (except for the live stream part), Apple really impressed me today!!! SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY:D

This thread will be great to revisit in a year.

It's hard for anyone to predict anything. We don't know the real prices for it with decent bands, we dont know battery life, and we have only seen renders. It could be amazing, or it could be total garbage.

So does the Apple Watch have any functionality without an iPhone being attached (if your iPhone is off, for example)?

I definitely can't see people lugging around their 5.5" 6 Plus with them when they go running or for an intense workout...

I'm a Triathlete and I have seen many people using their Galaxy series and Note series phones during workouts. Plus on some runs I go to just about everyone has their huge phones on an armband. Doesn't take long for you to forget it is there.

Apart from the presentation, the u2 album is the only one that got me. Apple Watch, oh man... so much fiddling. Iphone 6, dunno, Waiting for a stable IOS8 release though.

Been watching all Keynotes for the last 8 years. Have had my doubts and so on, but never been truly let down and felt like Apple did a terrible job. Until today. Holy c*** the Apple Watch is fat, square and has and ugly a** interface. The fact that the keynote was streamed through a connection that made my iPad Mini Retina, my iPhone and my 15" MBPr seem like Windows-products did NOT help with my feeling towards this terrible, terrible release.

And the iPhone? Well, when the iPhone 5 launched I and a lot other guys said "Give me an iPhone that looks like that new iPod Touch, and I will be a happy camper". Today that's the iPhone we got. Though this is two years later, HTC has made that exact phone minus iOS over a year ago and Apple is loosing terrain as the pioneering company fast.

And please, before any of you gives me that old "there's allways someone who hates on Apple" mind you that I have ALWAYS been a massive Apple "fanboy" and supported the company through even great disappointments as antennagate and the whole maps-thing.

Yikes.

There's always skeptics and detractors. That's okay.

With some, the products grow on them. Sometimes visiting the Apple Store and trying stuff out wins people over.

Some never get won over. Then they go and buy what they believe are better products.

So be it. I thought it was an impressive keynote. The :apple:Watch isn't a new product category, but it's taken an immature one and done some interesting things with it. The products look impressive to me.

an apple product selling like hot cakes does not mean its a good product it means they have a fan base that will buy anything

It kinda feels like buying Beats was some kind of an omen. Everybody who was in the know knew that Beats headphones were crap, but they still sold like crazy. Back in the days, those who were in the know knew that Apple products were better and just worked. Feels like that has been changing for some time. Apple is transforming into Beats. Or, Beats has transplanted itself into Apple and is taking over the organism: Crappy and overpriced products, that still sell like crazy because of gimmicks and image.

The 360 is nice, but I don't like that black bar along the bottom.

I will take the 100 dollars cheaper black bar with superior features, design and functionality over this.
it looks like a toy, like the old ipod slapped onto a wrist band. disgraceful!
