"a whole new interface around the crown - you wont need to swipe and obscure the display" "Now heres a demo" swipe ..swipe ..swipe

how do you not understand the words "won't need to"? you don't need to. but, if there are lists you don't mind obscuring as you swipe, go for it. but -- you don't need to.

durrr

Wow, way to demand less of the user experience!

You call him lazy about the apps. My nexus learns what apps I use the most in which circumstances (e.g at home, work, out and about) and automatically changes the shortcuts so they are on the front screen.

It's awesome, and I wish my iPhone did the same.

Oh, please.

I will take the 100 dollars cheaper black bar with superior features, design and functionality over this.

Check out the Ars Technica review of the 360. It's pretty much a joke of a product. A few hours of battery life on a slow, stuttery, old SoC from c. 2010. Easily the worst of the crop of current smartwatches out there.

it looks like a toy, like the old ipod slapped onto a wrist band. disgraceful!

What is so superior about the Motorola? I personally won't pass judgement until I try both, first hand. Since I use Android and iOS, I like that I have the option for either of these wearables.

Agree all around. GPS too. I'm fine with it needing the phone linkup for data and such, but you need to be able to run with this thing on and not have to worry about lugging your phone along for the ride.

You must have missed the part where they said it requires operation with an iPhone. You don't need GPS in both units. If lugging the phone along with you is a problem for you, it certainly isn't your biggest problem.

Am I the only left-handed person here who noticed that the :apple:Watch seems to come in a right-handed version?

Everyone was wearing it on their left wrist. Lefties wear watches on the right wrist hence the crown is awkwardly placed. Grrrr.

I'm a 'rightie' and I wear my watch on my right wrist. But I'm not going to buy it anyway, so lucky me.

Apple ALMOST sold me on the Watch. It started out so promising. How everything looked to keep the electronics secure. Announced a sport edition. Just knew they were going to say it was waterproof and just knew it would be something that I could replace my Garmin Watch with on my workouts and races. But nothing there. My Garmin watch is still required. You were so close Apple but ya didn't sell me.

I need to be able to go jump in the pool for swim workouts and seamlessly transition to the other disciplines on the watch with little trouble.

According to the movement in stock price is looks like the new phones beat expectations while the Apple Watch underdelivered. Given the hype for the iwatch i supposed it's a success that it didn't completely fail to live up to its expectations.

The Apple watch is spectacular. It will sell in the hundreds of millions. As for left handers, I bet one will simply wear it on one's right wrist, turn upside down and it is the same. The wristbands will allow for repositioning.

No new phone in the smaller form factor, really?
so from 3.5 to 4 and now the smallest size is 4.7 in the new feature set.

Maybe next year they will have an iPhone mini for those of us that don't need a monster phone. I am torn about buying a 5S as my last iPhone or switching to the xperia mini. BLAH!

BS. It's this way after every launch. Go back to the 2008 unibody MacBook event. Pages and pages of complaining and lots of hate for the black chicklet keyboard.

Right, but we were talking about the iPhone, not MacBooks... try again.

Sure there are always some idiots who complain, but most of the people were were pleased with the keynote; this time it's different.

Agreed - my biggest complaint with the Apple watch.

But that won't stop me from buying one. I'm all in Apple. Lots of cool features and I actually think it looks pretty nice - love the way the bands can be interchanged.

Agreed. Love the AppleWatch. Can't believe the negativity on here. Of course, when the iPhone, iPad, etc., came out stock went down and we heard the same thing, so par for the course I guess. These things will sell like hotcakes!

Apple innovation really has died after Jobs.

The iPhone is just playing catchup to Android/Samsung phones.
The iwatch is a poorly designed, pointless device but people will buy it to be cool and later it will get thinner and have new features that will no longer work on older phones. Typical apple. I mean the design? come on, it is basically a 6th gen nano with a sensor. Ugh.

Odd Stock Price

It rose as high as $103.08, then fell during the iWatch presentation, crept back up when U2 got on, and then dropped to $96.14 as soon as the presentation ended. It's creeping back up to breakeven right now. All in about 2.5 hours. Lest anyone think Wall Street is rational.
