Apple ALMOST sold me on the Watch. It started out so promising. How everything looked to keep the electronics secure. Announced a sport edition. Just knew they were going to say it was waterproof and just knew it would be something that I could replace my Garmin Watch with on my workouts and races. But nothing there. My Garmin watch is still required. You were so close Apple but ya didn't sell me.

I need to be able to go jump in the pool for swim workouts and seamlessly transition to the other disciplines on the watch with little trouble.

Don't know any pulse tracking watch that's waterproof. Is there any? As a swimmer I searched for it for a while, couldn't find any.

Am I the only left-handed person here who noticed that the :apple:Watch seems to come in a right-handed version?

Everyone was wearing it on their left wrist. Lefties wear watches on the right wrist hence the crown is awkwardly placed. Grrrr.

I noticed it too. . . maybe it will be reversible (just put the band on upside down). That would require a few minor software tweaks, but definitely doable.

People are looking at these products with competitors products in mind.

But the truth is, these products should be looked at in the context of their ecosystem which can then be compared to competitors' ecosystems.

The Apple Watch isn't everything I wanted/hoped it would be. Gen 1's rarely are. I'm just glad they didn't try to shrink an iPhone onto your wrist. As I (and many) are "Apple people" and like using Apple products, the Apple Watch is a great addition to that family. I can already envision utilizing the touch communication stuff they demoed.

A lot of this was really cool - I will say though, it they hadn't put Apple Pay into the Watch, I would've been more upset. That last little nugget saved it for me. Number 1 thing I wanted in the watch.

''You don't have to pinch to zoom to view photos on such a small screen''

What did we do to view photos on the 6th gen iPod nano?

Some are suggesting it might be possible to rotate the watch 180 degrees and wear it on the right hand (with the digital crown on the bottom). If that were truly an option, though, I think Apple might have shown some people wearing it as such...

As a left-handed person, I share your concern! ha

I'm not certain, but I think I saw that one of the runners in the video had it on her right wrist.

You have to have a phone, a specific phone, for this to work?
The same exact thing everyone slammed the Gear for.
Cannot express how severely disappointed I am.
FAIL.

Now bring on iPad Air 2 & a new Nano.

What is so superior about the Motorola? I personally won't pass judgement until I try both, first hand. Since I use Android and iOS, I like that I have the option for either of these wearables.

Moto 360s design runs circles, literally around Iwatch.

Retail pricing was released in the Singapore Store

S$1148 for 5.5 inch

In Singapore dollars

THe whole album is available for "purchase" for free if you search for U2.

Once I turned on "SHOW ITUNES IN THE CLOUD PURCHASES" and restarted itunes (which might not have been necessary, it was right there in my library.

Left handed taken care of

Possibly.

If you look at the clasps they are bi-directional.
i.e. you could flip the watch upside down and have the scroll wheel on the opposite side albeit on the bottom instead of the top.

I'm sure apple have thought of it

All fabulous! Getting ready to use my debit card for maybe the last time!!??

Will try 5.5" iPhone and definitely getting an iWatch.

Can't wait. Only Apple could do this. Only Apple.

Keynote at a glance

1. Introduce new iphones
2. Rape customers on pricing
3. Introduce new Iwatch
4. Rape customers on pricing
5. U2

Really? A bigger, better iPhone with MORE storage for the same cost as before is raping customers? Agree on the Watch though, that cost is insane!

hey guys one question..

who the ******* told Apple that we like square watches?

NOBODY LIKES SQUARE WATCHES!

Apple will fail. Tim should go away.

The two commercials for the 6 are absolutely terrible. They had an amazing run of a year or so with awesome commercials. What the hell?

There's always skeptics and detractors. That's okay.

With some, the products grow on them. Sometimes visiting the Apple Store and trying stuff out wins people over.

Some never get won over. Then they go and buy what they believe are better products.

So be it. I thought it was an impressive keynote. The :apple:Watch isn't a new product category, but it's taken an immature one and done some interesting things with it. The products look impressive to me.

Agreed.

The Apple Watch presentation required that people be able to use some imagination. It's a "one more thing" deal. They've got the basic layout, but the actual product may differ slightly. Specs will be ironed out, etc. With 3 categories and so many different styles of bands, I can see these making a good amount of money.

When I bought my first iPhone (or hell, iPod before that) and when I got my first iPad (all at launch), few people had them. "Too expensive!" was the main reason, along with "I don't see the need."

Now, look at people. Almost everyone has an iPhone (which replaced most iPods). Apple thrives on early adopters. They buy the goods, they enjoy the tech, they get out there into the world and people see them in action.

Eventually, some of the skeptics come around. The products evolve, and you wind up with something that appeals to a larger number of people.

I don't think the Apple Watch (unless it morphs into a phone replacement or some such one day) is going to replace the iPhone, but I do think that there will be decent revenues from this watch in 2015.
