The conference just ended and... I'm happy with everything except the look of the icons.

C'mon Apple Designers, even I can design better icons using Flat design.

I thought it was a joke… What is that Settings icon supposed to resemble?

It's not about the pixels, it's about the LED backlight. You are correct though, on an LCD display, it doesn't matter if you are displaying white or black, all that matters is the LED brightness.

Yeah I wasn't sure exactly about the technology, but I remember when google did that "turn the lights out" thing where their homepage went black, and seeing somewhere that it didn't actually change the amount of energy used.

I'm sorry but I didn't see one new thing in ios7. Just a rinse and repeat interface copied from android.

apple fails to deliver yet again. smh.

I think you mean you didn't see anything new. Certainly it was new for iOS. Also likely better implemented than Android. But funny to see all the Android backers say iOS7 is both stolen from Android and ugly.

Personally, ecstatic to see iOS more unified and also skeumorphic-free.

IOS have always been ahead of android in terms of implementation. you only use android if you want viruses and a laggy experience where it takes 10 seconds to switch a app and full of dirty pirates who only want free stuff

But......removable batteries! Removable memory cards! High quality plastic!

:D

Apple and Jonny really pulled it off! Talk about hitting a home run. I was not sure if iOS would really be that different but it was and then some. Not only that but OSX Mavericks as well and both beta's available today!

IOS7's features look good, still want a way to hide stock apps.

About retina Macbook Air's, they could go somewhere in the middle, at least 1080P.

I have been very impressed with iOS7. From what I have seen, it is an excellent upgrade. I am a bit surprised that there has not been any bounce at all in the Apple stock price. In actual fact, there has been a small drop in the price at 3:03 pm Eastern (from the opening price) to the low of the day.

Understandably, hardware is the other side of the equation and without further changes than what we know should be in the 5S, I suppose that a very much revamped iOS is not what will attract average purchasers but a new, more "exciting", phone.

For myself, iOS 7 with a differently designed, larger phone would have been a great upgrade.

Nothing really new in iOS 7 that isn't in Android/Web OS. The changes were definitely needed though. It is strange that they really didn't announce anything new in iOS 7 that hasn't been done before. I would of thought they would have some innovative features. But I guess at this point they are just sticking with what works.

Personally, I don't know what else they could have innovated on. Most of the innovations in Android have been purely gimmicky stuff from the OEMs. Samsung's hover stuff is neat at first, but in the real world completely useless (unless I have fingers covered in wing sauce or something).

I love Google for trying tons of new things, but, sometimes that doesn't equate to stability.

I love Apple/iOS for stability and design, waiting to see where things are going and then moving on it. While they may not be first to it, they sure seem to get it right the first time around.

We get a radical change in jailbreak tweaks every few months... I don't see why not.. since they end up using the tweaks in the next ios...

Might as well make it open source.

what the heck.....why not just make iOs available to all mobile devices..jeez!:apple:

I'm overall very pleased with iOs 7! can't wait for its release!

Lol at the android troll invasion taking place right now.

The trolls have arrived! A sure indication of Apple's success.

Android trolls? Aren't people allowed to hold opinions on iOS 7 that may be negative? Yes, some may be Android trolls no doubt, but i'm pretty sure the majority who are disliking the new OS are iOS fans, users, or perhaps non-iOS users who do not hate Apple. It's the arrogant behaviour of some iOS fanboys that annoys me. I'm a long time iOS user, and still am, but just because I don't like the new design, doesn't mean that behind the computer screen I'm some Android fanatic fanboy who's got the time to slag off iOS 7.

Not a personal attack on you, but generally people need to stop making assumptions and being arrogant. There's criticism and disapproval and then there's malicious trolling. Some people need to accept some criticism rather than labelling them as an Android troll

They will get to it. It just won't be today. It will probably be a month or two in time for the back-to-school rush and when the Haswell chips are in better supply. They aren't going to stick with Ivy Bridge for another year. Mac announcements come all the time. WWDC is mostly a software event, not a hardware event.

But if it's focused exclusively on software, then why update only one notebook in the line, while also spilling the beans on the Mac Pro? Total lack of consistent messaging here.

It would have been far more sensible to update the entire product line of notebook computers at the same time, if indeed they want to have all units shipping with Haswell before September. I understand the Mac Pro announcement was to offer something to those consumers who have been patiently waiting for far too long, so that I can rationalize.

The way things currently sit, you have the MBA with updated processors, while the remaining notebooks now have antiquated hardware (from a market perspective). What reason does anyone have to purchase a MBP now? The way I see it, you're paying premium prices for outdated hardware, and they call this innovation?

Pa-lease.

Keynote just ended and AAPL is -1.60 from +5.30 before it started.

It all came right at the end, as if the market was disappointed in the iTunes Radio announcement. I'm not sure why. It was ticking up all throughout the iOS 7 announcement.

There was nothing "revolutionary" about today's announcement, but realistically, what was "revolutionary" about the Galaxy S4 announcement? The Mac Pro looks really interesting, but it's a low-volume product. The MacBook Air is a spec bump, and I'm guessing so will be the MacBook Pro update when it comes (probably next month).

Siri looks like it has caught up to Google Now, and the auto integration is ahead. OS X Maverick looks nice, and they are finally doing some good work with iWork and iCloud now.

Cook already said not to expect major new product categories until the fall and 2014.

That was the best Apple keynote in quite a few years in my opinion. This is the first time since prior to Steve Jobs death that I've felt good and confident about Apple. They really exceeded my expectations today. Some people will complain because they didn't get all the features they wanted or because they don't like change, but I personally think the products they showed today were all great and it showed me that Apple still have the ability to wow people. Great keynote.
