No Bluetooth or MMS for 1-st gen.

Heh heh...way to encourage upgrades for those with 2-year-old contracts this summer!

Well, seems to be a limitation of the hardware. I'm sure someone else will verify that eventually.

I think that's just a way to try to get the 1st gen people to upgrade. Also it said it's available to first gen people but did it specifically say it's free for first gen people?

This is awesome news for sure. I can't wait.

The biggest thing I was looking forward to was tethering, though. Unless I missed something in the peer-to-peer section (or wherever), there's no tethering?

More features than I was expecting now just have to wait until the "Summer"

Do our phones have to be signed like they were last time to run the developer preview? IIRC, we had to have some certification to run it.

I wonder if MMS will be free or will you have to pay extra for it.

Also the turn by turn on how much that app will cost. Since most devices are in the $120+

AT&T issue. Not Apple.

They said they were "working on it" months ago and then nothing more was said.

I'm curious in what way 1st Gen iPhones couldn't support MMS.
I have many friends and family with phones years older, and much less advanced, and without any internet connectivity, but still seems to handle MMS.

In the way that MMS isn't part of ATT's 2G plan and they want you to upgrade to a 3G phone so they can ramp up their efforts to switch EDGE antennas to 3G.

I reckon you could make an app to do tethering to a PC that way.. but doesn't look like they've added DUN/PAN profiles so no connection to standard devices.

I am fairly impressed.

It struck me as utter disappointment by the point they pulled out Leaf Trombone.

"11:33AM Q: Why did copy paste take so long?
A: Scott: It's not that easy. There were security issues."

Yeah right. Pull the other one!

£5 says everyone starts fornicating over this when it's been in every single other smartphone for years!
